Back to earth after last night’s high! I was glad that the 12% meals @ +1 +2 prevented a deep dive last night, but the same routine this morning did not help; no idea why. I’m just glad she is back in the greens.
I was thinking that her 89 preshot of 2/24 might have been caused by not eating much the day before. I am going to reset the portion size and see if that helps. Every time I ask a vet if she needs to lose weight they say no, they are just glad that she is maintaining her weight despite her IBD and CKD, and don’t mess with success. But she has always weighed at least a pound less than she does now, and of course we know that being overweight contributes to diabetes. I’ve tried in the past to get her to lose weight, but it’s hard to do when at the same time I’m trying to prevent her BG from going too low. Not sure what the solution is here, but I’ll keep trying.
Happy Sunday to all !
