Hi, another Cape situation and unsure what to do.

She was 152 at +11 (8am) and now she's 141 at 9am when she gets her morning shot.

As suggested I traced her line since our first post on here so she has more data.

We've gone back to a .25 does but she's also moving her bowels regularly now and settling in and calmer so I don't know what I can pinpoint on her Lantus.

Thank you

Looking at the numbers on Capes ss, it looks like Cape is clearing the bounce from the last blues he saw. If the bounce is just clearing, and you shoot, it may lead to quite an active cycle, you may need to feed him at appropriate times through the cycle.

Has anything changed recently with food for Cape, ie has he recently changed from dry to wet? In fact does cape eat wet food or dry?(sorry ignore that last question, I see she's on wet from your sig bloc)

If you do decide to shoot, you would have to start by getting a +1 and +2, if he were dropping at +1 and +2, you may need to steer with food, and you may need to be around for the first half of the cycle.

If you are unable to hang out with Cape, then I think a skip would be safest today.

Thank you for all the input G&G

I'm going to test one last time at 10am. SHe's not thrilled at all about extra testing and no breakfast yet, she's swinging and growling so I'm just trying to diffuse that anxiety and get the next test

She seems to be flat coming into that +12, as she is approaching the end of the lantus cycle, eventually the numbers should start to come up. If you find that she is coming up when you next get a test then I would go ahead and shoot (as long as you can monitor the first part of cycle)

You've done a good job of gathering data on this dose, with only one dip into blues, she has been pink and yellow for the most of it, so it should be OK to shoot.

I was able to get her calmed down after she got pretty mad at me and Speedy. I took a test on her right ear and was 219 so I shot.

Cape is doing a great job with everything considering this may by her first indoors in a long time (maybe ever) and a lot of testing is new to her.

She had her breakfast and I'll monitor throughout the day and keep this thread updated.

Thank you for taking the time to help her.

Get a +1(if you can), with all the excitement, her BG might have been a little influenced by that if she was feeling a bit stressed.
Hope she enjoys her breffs.

First time visiting your condo. Are you giving a treat after each test? I used freeze dried chicken or turkey. Worked really well.

Cape is 284 at +2 (1200)

Hi Tiff, thank you for taking some time to add your thoughts. I'm going to track down some raw treats for both Cape and Speedy next week hopefully.

One issue with Cape is that if she knows food is coming she wants the food before she has anything else. She's emaciated and really loves food right now but she only wants food, she gets very anxious and stressed when you try to do anything around food time. Mornings are tough but we do 4 meals a day here so she knows food is coming all through the day.

We did a full blood workup to make sure she doesn't have any internal issues that could be the cause of her weight so since she was found outside we're thinking it's a combination of diabetes and not enough food. I upper her calories in the hope that she can gain some weight as I'm able to get her regulated.

I used freeze dried 100% protein treats as well as freeze dried raw Feline Natural and Stella & Chewy's. Max only got them after a test and when I started fluids after that. I didn't bring the treat in until after I was done. At one point I was buying human freeze dried chicken and turkey which had no carbs. You will find something that works. I agree the diabetes is making your guy hungry. Max had the opposite problem but he was diagnosed at 16.
