Rufus had dentistry done yesterday and he did amazing. They did have a hard time finding a vein in his arms because of all the Chubb... and they also could not find his bladder to get a urine sample for the same reason.
I though he lost a pound or 2... but if he did, its back. He weighed in at 18.9lbs/8.57kgo_O Ive been feeding him even less now that he has been pretty regulated for the last month or so. I cant believe he hasnt lost any weight.

They said the infammation from gingivitis was quite bad but after cleaning the teeth looked pretty healthy except for a few that were extracted. So weird, and lovely, that he doesnt have horrible breath anymore.

He has been eating and grooming as if nothing happened. He is on Pain killers for the next few days and antibiotics for 5 days.

I was very excited to see his number dropped below 100 last night... although a little too quickly. Today things are different... but hopefully his BG will settle back in over the next week.
 
I’m glad the dental went well. Max was fed just two cans of fancy feast unless I had to add mc and hc. I could get him to lose weight. He wasn’t active. I have never heard of a vet not being able to find the bladder! That’s a little weird dint you think?

They said they could get a sample if they used an ultrasound.... but seemed easier for me to just collect at home if I want to bring some next time Im back. But because there were no issues I said I can just try to collect some. I am involved with a charitable rescue so he has done at least 100+ cystocentesis for me. This was the first time he wasnt able to. And Rufus is reallllllllly round.:(
He is not very active either.... and when he is he tires easily. Before he came to me he was a mostly an outdoor cat and still 19lbs while unreguatedo_O Possibly he was just a lay in the sun kinda outdoor cat LOL
 
Sounds like Max. He never liked tots much. His exercise was playing with Tiffany and she left us way too young. He did like straws. It’s hard when they won’t move enough to get them to lose weight.
