Greetings from Insanity Central!

We've had three nights in a row of hitting green, so of course Mr. Liver decided it was time to have a panic attack. I'm not sure what I think about this, honestly. I want him to stay in greens, but after my being up for two PJ parties and Don one, we love the idea of sleep.

Tomorrow is Mikey's appointment with our vet. We're going to get a bit of snow, but not enough to keep us from getting there. I'm predicting that Dr. Mowry will never have heard of using Lantus pens, but that I will be able to convince him to prescribe them. I'm also predicting that we leave with an appointment for Mikey to have a dental. I still don't notice anything obvious, but I'm no vet, and it makes a lot of sense to thing he needs one.

Mean while I am running full speed with school responsibilities. Can't wait for June!

Hi Mary, when we asked our vet about pens versus a vial of Lantus, she had never heard of that, and didn't understand how it would work. Luckily, our tech's mother is diabetic, so she was able to explain that you can use a regular syringe to draw the dose out of the pen just like a mini-vial. A picture may be worth a thousand words if your vet isn't familiar with how the pens work. The Info, Proper Handling, and Storage page has pictures of drawing insulin with a regular syringe out of a pen. Had I been thinking, it probably would have been simpler to have had a picture or diagram to show my vet when we switched to pens. We are the first (and only so far) at their practice using pens.

Mikey, you've mastered diving and bouncing, wanna give surfing a try? Tryouts happening now for the LL surf team! :D;)

Hi Mary, Sorry to see that Mikey bounced last night, but it looks like he recovered nicely. This morning's AMPS is the lowest you have seen in awhile.
