Yesterday's condo

Shadow and I had a long night again last night, but he was still ready to have breffis (didn't really clean the bowls today though) DH had to shove me a few times last night when I was snoozing happily away and my cell phone alarm was waking him up. :lol: Drank water, put the alarm away from my bed so I have to get up~~I did all the tricks but I still manage to stay asleep sometimes. :roll:
Guess all the skating and bobsledding last night did a number on his BGs cause as soon as the Olympics were over, I did his +4 test and there it was "Shadow back to his old drop fast tricks". +4 is snack time, gave him some LC and then woke at +5...so far so good...but then by my wake-up at +6, he needed more LC. then, the bounce began. :lol:
If it doesn't go clear into the Pinks or Reds I will be very happy....his bounces have changed so much, ya know?

Last night made #1 <50 Green for him since the clock was restarted. We will see how the boy does from here.I am not in any hurry for him to get a dosecrease for myself...it's all up to Shadow and his pancreas. I feel a lot more relieved with the low numbers now, knowing that he has to prove he wants a dosecrease by getting 2 instead of just the 1.

Do you suppose that once I order the new pack of 5 Lev pens with my new prescription, he will suddenly decide to go for the Gold...uh, :lol: I mean, head for the OTJ trail? The thought of having 5 more new pens makes me feel so rich again...but in a better way than being rich with test strips. Incidentally, I have 2 unopened strip boxes again after another trip to Walmart...breathe easy again Pat nailbite_smile . I am so incredibly weird, no?

I think he is tired after our party last night and he is not doing any Ps at all. But he was such a good boy during the past 24 hours... cat_pet_icon (and CD, the only reason I go to the Moon to help my kitties is because that's where Shadow usually is hanging out...by the Moon)....incidentally, for all you moon Kitties out there~~~Full Moon this Sunday!!! fll_moon

Looking great, Shadow! You are making your mommy bean so happy!!! It's so nice to see him in some normal ranges, Pat. Hoping he won't bounce too high or for too long today!

Let Raja know that Logan can go to the party since she'll be looking after him. I know he'll be in good paws! And maybe she could have a little talk with him about his ugly pink numbers! Pink is not his color!!!

Well! That was some nice Shadow action. I hope the bounce isn't too high. No need for that, Shadow. You are already the center of attention!

Basil got all excited hearing about that party. I hear the hangers in his closet being shoved back and forth. He's SUCH a fashion plate!

Woohooo 1 down one to go! I'm sure having the Lev pens will work wonders. You know....I always got low numbers when I was running low on test strips, as luck would have it (something to think about considering your hoarding tendancies) you just might be sabotaging yourself. This isn't a horrific bounce and they are getting smaller and shorter lived, so I expect he will sail back down to more earthly numbers soon. He had quite a day yesterday so a little wonkyness is allowed.

As for the carrier discussion....I have just 1 (yes I did put both in it together just 1 time for the 5 minute ride to our new home) ever since Spooky's trip to the vet at Dx it has been sitting under a bench in the corner of the livingroom and both cats are nuts about it! I took the door off and put a towel in it and at least once a day, sometimes overnight one of the cats goes in there for a nap. They have probably only been closed in it and taken on a car ride 2-3 times in thier life, so they don't really associate it with anything. We call it thier "house" and they like going in there.

Some day I'll find my old post on the old board about my first car trip with Socks, in which I didn't have said carrier. I bought it shortly after that experience.

Boy that Shadow loves playing around with you.
I am sure he will clear this 264 very quickly and be back down in no time.
Just in time for the full moon this weekend. Yikes.
We all better hang on for this ride.

Stock up on the coffee too Pat, Not just the test strips. lol!

Shadow just wants you to enjoy the moon with him. Isn't that sweet. And I bet he will just sleep the day away while you are doing your inventory. I mean who among us can feel comfortable with only one box of strips?

I shudda split his morning breffis but I didn't think of it at the time...so while it's raining outside, it's sunny yellow in here. Raja is back in her closet...thoroughly annoyed and angry with me. (Amoxi dropper took her of guard this morning. She will not be so innocent the next time around. :YMSIGH: This is the beginning of a very looooong 2 weeks.)
Ya know, yesterday when I carried her to the carrier, she saw it and spread eagle with her legs and arms. She started screaming "NOooooooo" as I got her into it. I mean, she really screamed NOOOooooo....honest! I was laughing so hard but felt so bad at the same time. The two of them were howling and growling and really verbalizing their annoyance with me in the car for the entire ride. Shadow was in front with me and was almost hysterical, looking around and yelling at the top of his lungs

Raja was so funny at the vet office when I placed her in front of thge dreaded carrier after her examination...you'd think it was her favorite hideout...she needed no coaxing and ran into it!! :lol:

The whole ride home was totally quiet except for my giggling at them. The are SO funny. All the dramatics on the ride TO the vet office and then, they are so happy to be going home and so totally mute. Not a peep out of the two of them! They make me feel like such a bad Mother. :sad:

THEY don't know that a dental is on the horizon for each of them. Sad day in Muddville that will be....

Wow, you had a busy night! All those events AND low numbers. Wondering if you will get some sleepus tonight or have to do the cell phone boggy again. I find the most obnoxious tone for the alarm when I use the cell phone.

Tuscany likes to be mildly vocal for about the first 10-20 minutes of a trip then settles down. Josie is dead quiet except rarely a very tiny mew. I carry Josie out to car in garage - carrier is in car - then she will go in it. It was too much effort cornering her and shoving her in carrier. Wee - I've had to use the pillowcase trick - pillowcase on lap- cat comes for loving - set on pillowcase and puff -quick up and around goes the case and she gets shoved into carrier. Otherwise she is murder - how many legs do those cats have anyways when trying to get them in those carriers??

Wow, can't believe your mom said something along the lines of "no drama tonight". I bet she's doing an anti-jinx dance right now.

OMG you had me in tears I was laughing so hard at your description of the adventure you three had yesterday.

I told you I just swoop latte up and put her in. She is very sweet in the car...except when her numbers drop on the way home...then she gets a little rambunctious! Once we get to the vet its a different story. All claws dig into everything and anything in the carrier when its time to get out. Hissing is often involved...lots of it. I thought I would get smart and take out the screws to lift the top...still no getting her out of there. Dont think I have not thought about dumping it upside down and shaking her out! :lol: Once she is out, we usually have to put the carrier outside the exam room. After all these years, she has figured out how to open it, if given enough time! :o :lol: It usually involves lots of clawing, pushing, pulling, and eventually...WALLA! I seriously do not understand how it is possible! I have a hard time opening it myself. :roll:

She now takes to hiding under a chair while waiting or sitting in my lap (the only time she will do so) with her head hiding deep in my arm or lap. She likes to make herself look all cute and innocent. Then the tech picks her up a HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSS, groan, grrrrrrrrowwwwwl!

Okay - enough babble. Did you easedrop on Latte and Shadow's convo over the phone today? I was out, so I didnt hear it! Latte was very sad afterwards because she realized how much she missed Shadow!!! I gave her a pep talk and told her all about Sunday's party. She came out of her shell a bit and is now sitting on the computer chair, grooming herself and getting all pretty. She cant wait!!!!

This will be the FIRST full moon party I will be home for! Im very excited.

Well, I hope you and shadow (and raja) have a wonderful night watching the olympics, snoozing, drinking water, snacking...and poking!
