Hi L&LL,

Rusty's breathing/congestion was much better today. His appetite is so-so. I think one problem with his appetite is that he has only 5 teeth (the two lower canines and 3 other small teeth) and needs to snuf/lick up his food and that this gets into his nose and worsens congestion. So he doesn't eat a lot at any one time, but grazes throughout the day (when he is reminded that he might be hungry).

Our warm, warm weather continues. The forecast for the World Snowshoe Championship Races on Saturday is for heavy rain and warm weather. Nonetheless they are not going to postpone because of all the international athletes.

I spent most of the afternoon trying to "translate" Rusty's dose from Terumo to other syringes. I have only about 2 weeks more of the wonderful Terumo syringes that @Chris & China sent me. Since they are discontinued, I have to find another syringe. I have BD (which are very hard to push the plunger on), CarePoint Vet, Sure Comfort, and Ulticare Vet. CarePoint Vet and Sure Comfort are the same syringe, same company, but marketed to different "consumers". I don't like any of the 4 alternatives. The Terumo markings are so much easier to read. I've been counting drops and trying to figure out how they relate to the caliper readings. I'll have to go back to @Marje and Gracie 's posts and our correspondence for reference. In the meantime, I am going blind, since Rusty's dose is quite tiny. And I think I've been calling it smaller than it actually is. This is a major mess!

Wishing all a fine evening. I'm going downstairs to sit with Rusty and hold his bowl.

I'm glad to hear Rusty is a little better today and hope to see his appy pick up a bit again soon. Doodles licks the wet food too so I make it soupy but lately he's been doing better with a wee bit of Primal freeze dried raw crumbled on top. So frustrating on changing syringes :( I use the Vet CarPoint. Ordered 1000 of them last year, all came with the same lot number so the markings are consistent. I do have bubble trouble though. Hope you find a syringe that works.

Hope the forecast for Saturday is wrong or it's not too bad for you all to have a good race. Give extra scritches for sweet boy Rusty.

Sorry to hear the syringes are coming to an end, Ella!! I know how much of a pain it is to switch....especially when you've got "the touch" with one brand and not any of the others!

Sorry about the weather warming up on you too...You sure didn't get much of a winter to enjoy your snow-sports (there's still hope though...winter ain't over yet)

Glad to hear Rusty's congestion is better today too! Hopefully he'll continue to improve!!

I know how frustrating the syringe issue is. I really liked the terumo, but DH didn't. He prefered Relion. I hope you can find one that works for you.

Meanwhile, the LagoonMeister has been a busy boy. Rusty, you must try to remember to eat. You can't supervise the lagoon properly if you don't keep up your strength!

I'm glad his breathing is improving. Sending vines to help.

I'm not quite sure how one snowshoes in heavy rain and warm weather, no matter how good an athlete you are... Still, I'll hope for the best for you all.

I use the BD syringes and yes they are sometimes "sticky". And the markings aren't consistent; sometimes the top line is on a visible angle.
Nice to see Rusty spent a lot of time in the lagoon yesterday!
