YAY! He ate last night! He ate an entire can of Friskies & about 3/4 can of Fancy Feast! I am surprised, however, that there wasn't much LB action overnight. Considering I gave him 250mls SQ fluids yesterday, there was only 1 small pee clump & a couple of small poos in the LB this morning. He did not use the LB at all between 7:30am yesterday morning & 9pm last night.

What do you guys think about using prednisone to treat p~itis? They discuss its use in that roundtable discussion Sienne sent me last week from IDEXX about p~itis. I have posted this question over on health as well viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7155

Today Morris ate about 7/8 can of Friskies! He also had a lot more LB action today!!!!

I think I am going to go ahead & get the labwork done my vet wants me to have done before starting Morris on B12 injections. In that roundtable discussion from IDEXX, it talked about measuring the cobalmin levels before starting B12 therapy, then testing it again after 6 weeks to see if the B12 is helping or not. I am only working 1/2 day tomorrow, so I will call the office in the morning & see if I can bring Morris in to the office tomorrow afternoon to get the labs drawn. It will cost me around $100-125ish to have the test done each time.

I have also been discussing possible prednisone trial with my vet. I am hoping to do a full curve on Morris this weekend which will give us better information in making this decision. The vet that I saw with Morris a couple weeks ago defined a full curve as testing every 2 hours for a minimum of 16 hours.

Hi Gwen -

My vet and I decided not to do the pred with the p~titis, but that was Six's first flare and not anything like Morris' flares. I hope some people post in health for you.

I did want to mention a nutritional supplement we just started - Zentonil - it's the SAMe mentioned in the IDEXX reading. It's a big pill that can be broken so Morris would have to be good at pilling, but in the first week of using it, I am seeing positive results.

Gabby's had only one bout of pancreatitis. Pred was not even on the table. I don't know if very many of the beans here have used pred with CP. I'd see what some of the techs on Health have to say.

I have not been able to find any of the techs over on health. I have tried posting Morris' lab results there looking for feedback, asking about pred, and other p~itis questions, but there is only 1 person that sounds like he knows what he is talking about (Larry) & others who are just lending support repling to my posts over there. I have also tried sending Jojo a PM, but haven't hear back from her either (I know she is busy & not well)
