Good Morning, Everyone,

We were still tired from yesterday's snowshoe and Rusty wanted his schmooze after breakfast, so we all went btb. It's still snowing, and it's still relatively mild (upper 'teens), but that's about to change and we'll be back to below zero tonight.

Rusty ate all his nighttime food and part of his breakfast (so far). He's in his perch over the radiator, watching the snow fall. The birdfeeders are full of chickadees, goldfinches, redpolls, and nuthatches. The yard is full of deer tracks through the deep snow. All is well here.

Tonight is the mountain club's monthly potluck (they sure do roll around fast!). I'm down for a main dish and am cleaning out the cupboard and making a macaroni and cheese casserole.

Wishing all a fine day. Keep warm and stay safe (those of you who are in winter's grip)!

Morning Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

I like that amps Rusty, You off to the lagoon today? :cat:

wow on the still snowing... it has to Eb a winter wonderland there. It is hard to fathom when we are looking at sun and temps in the 50's. I hope you had a great snowshoe yesterday, I will have to go back and read. It sounds great will all the birds you have there. Fun to watch them isn't it? I bet Rusty likes it too. Got a good view from the radiator perch Rusty? Life is indeed good.

Enjoy the potluck tonight. and... YUM on the mac'n'cheese. I love that stuff.

Have the best today. Stay warm!

We have snow in our forecast so maybe the high off the CA coast is breaking up and you won't be getting the arctic air. Paws crossed. The Lagoon awaits its Meister, Rusty.

Mmmmmmm mac cheese, I really missed that for a while until I found a yummy vegan packet mix. I like to add small dices of celery and/or red capsicum for a little crunch - yummo. Doh - now I've got food on my mind but still over an hour of the rabbit run to go!

Nice meistering Rusty :D

I put chopped onions, chopped green beans, chopped broccoli, and sun-dried tomatoes in it. It was a big hit with the crowd.

Rusty is ready for the evening show ("Downton Abbey"). He's saving his dinner for when we gather on the couch to watch. Tomorrow we start a new cartridge of Lev. We are almost at the end of the current one (and I like to save a little in the old cartridge just in case I should drop or otherwise damage the new one when we are away from home).

The temperature has begun to drop. The high today was just at freezing (32 degrees F.). It felt like spring!!

bbl,

Looks like a flat night on shore, but still good numbers. Rusty is lucky having such a variety of birds to watch. We're not supposed to do feeders with seed here - it attracts bears, and they'll probably be coming out of hibernation soon.

I hope the hamstring is fine today.

Great day for Rusty--I hope your hamstring is no worse for the wear after your adventure yesterday? OM goodness, you always have a potluck to attend now I am craving mac and cheese LOL! :D:D

What a beautiful winter scene you paint with your words Ella- I am so jealous of those redpolls!! In your spare time, try to see if you can pick out the presence of any Hoary Redpoll(as opposed to Common Redpoll) if you have a very large flock, there may be one of two present- they are a real rarity in most parts.

@Wendy&Neko - Wendy--BEARS?? :eek::eek::eek: And here I was complaining about deer and and rats...:rolleyes:

Hey Rusty, who's in charge in the lagoon while you're lounging on shore? Cinco is out in the deep end and forgot his water wings!

I'm glad you suffered no ill effects from your snowshoeing yesterday, Ella. I guess the hamstring is truly healed. That's great. Now you just need the weather to cooperate so you can have more outings.
