about the feeder (assuming it is a Petsafe 5 meal feeder):
-when the lid is open and the tray is in place, the top back edge of the tray needs to feel flush with the base unit. i have noticed that I always have to wiggle it a bit, to make sure it is seated all the way down and engaged with the gears. if it is not well seated all the way down, it sticks and may not turn completely.
-And as you said, tired batteries could definitely be the reason. I had that trouble a couple days ago, and had to tinker with it awhile to get it advancing (changed the batteries, wiggled the gears on the bottom, hit the "advance" button, )
-a third thing to consider is if you put anything in the "ice" compartment in the base, make sure it doesn't interfere. I actually put lead weights in there, to discourage any "gravity experiments" by Cody, and found one of them was flipped up and interfering with the tray.
make sure you put it near where he will hear if open, so that he gets trained to sit by it at the designated time. I try to feed all +7 meals from the feeder, and it is amazing how Cody KNOWS exactly what time it is everyday, no need for a wrist watch here, lol.
You are doing SO great with the lev! so happy for you. Hows K feeling?/ acting?
