I decided to start a new thread...my computer was having a hard time scrolling through the post on the 18th.

wow Marcy,
this kitty is really throwing you off your sleep schedule! Maybe he's trying to go *** ( dont want to say it)
if this becomes a habit I wonder if its drop time again. Isn't his nadir usually like +7 or +8?

since the PS are still sometimes high, would you be able to get a timed feeder to go off at +7 every night and day, and feed his main meal at that time, and feed a 2/3 meal at high # preshots.
I do this, use food to level off the curve somewhat (feed the biggest meal at +6 or +7 and feed less quantity at PS)

If he gets programmed to run to the sound of the feeder when it opens, maybe he might be less of a grazer and then become more predictable in bg readings. Just a thought
 
Although he's not having extremely low numbers, that swinging up to 300s still indicates too much insulin, which will probably be confirmed tonight as he's dropping steadily.

I guess the next dose will be 1.25U? Glad to see you're on top of the testing and the dose changes. Very exciting!

I bought a timed feeder...about a month ago and it's been sitting on the living room floor unused. I set it up and the tray turns 1/2 way. I need to get some new batteries, I think.

He hit 51 at +4 and I gave him 9% carb food at this point he also finished his dinner, which is unusual for him.
76 at +5

AMPS 256, I'll give 1.25u and see how he does on that for a few cycles.

about the feeder (assuming it is a Petsafe 5 meal feeder): :idea:

-when the lid is open and the tray is in place, the top back edge of the tray needs to feel flush with the base unit. i have noticed that I always have to wiggle it a bit, to make sure it is seated all the way down and engaged with the gears. if it is not well seated all the way down, it sticks and may not turn completely.
-And as you said, tired batteries could definitely be the reason. I had that trouble a couple days ago, and had to tinker with it awhile to get it advancing (changed the batteries, wiggled the gears on the bottom, hit the "advance" button, )
-a third thing to consider is if you put anything in the "ice" compartment in the base, make sure it doesn't interfere. I actually put lead weights in there, to discourage any "gravity experiments" by Cody, and found one of them was flipped up and interfering with the tray.

make sure you put it near where he will hear if open, so that he gets trained to sit by it at the designated time. I try to feed all +7 meals from the feeder, and it is amazing how Cody KNOWS exactly what time it is everyday, no need for a wrist watch here, lol. :lol:

You are doing SO great with the lev! so happy for you. Hows K feeling?/ acting?

Good description of this problem with this feeder Nancy. It is fixable though like you described. :)
