Yesterday's Condo:2 Gobbles PMPS 438 +5 384 ? dose increase ?
http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=89426

Good Morning LL ~O) I awoke to a Gobbles staring me down this morning, looking like a starved creature. He ate a can of FFLC, is being sociable, and hanging out on catnip/scratching board as I type this. Gobbles decided he wanted to climb the ladder yesterday evening (after spending so much time in the sun & lake during the day) and Mom here forgot to put the insulin away so it was left out for 3.75 hours last night. I gave him his AMPS shot today 1/2 early.

RECAP

AMPS 232
+6 154
7+ 127
+9 200
PMPS 336
+6 467
+7 550
+11 394
+11.5 492 (which is also today's AMPS as I shot 1/2 hour early @4:00 a.m. this morning)

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492

I love the cat alarm especially when it gets louder if you ignore it I-) ...I swear Molly gets to the point that you can hear her say "get up I'm starving"
Have a great Friday flip_cat
Also do you stay up overnight to get the +6, +7 etc or do you set an alarm?

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492

Have a great Friday!

Actually, with Gobby's current shot schedule, I'm awake to check his +6, +7. He had his shot yesterday at 4:30 am/4:30 pm--therefore I was still awake to get plenty of tests. My alarm is set for his AMPS: For example: Last night, his shot time was 4:00 a.m. so therefore, I went to bed (at midnight), set my alarm for 3:30 a.m. & gave shot at 4:00 a.m., then went to bed and got up at my leisure (7 a.m. this morning).

What time do you give Molly her shots?

We are on a OTJ trial - day 11!!! thank goodness- because I work 12 hour shifts so the days I worked it was not 12 hours apart 6am 8pm. 6am and 6pm when I was off.
When Molly was on the dry food her timer dish would open at 5am so she is in the habit of jumping up beside me before 5am....Now she knows this is chicken treat time!

Gobbles, you need to come down from there! You're on the wrong floor!

Have a great day Kat!

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492

Good Morning Melissa & Jo (?)--
Thanks for your kind words. I really am hoping hell come down; I will be doing his +6 test here in 30 minutes...

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492

Hi guys .. oh man .. those kitty alarms are hard to turn off! The amps is a little high but other then that it sounds like gobbles is having a pretty good morning .. have a great weekend guys!

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 ? high BG: temp, bleeding

Though I don't take Gobby's temperature, it seems to me he's warmer and bleeds easier when his BG is over 400... I haven't considered taking his temperature, esp. when he is high and feeling poorly!

Has anyone noticed the same (if your cat every has very high BG's)?

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 ? high BG: temp, bleeding

Your subject line is pretty scary, Kat:-)
Warm and bleeds easy makes sense. It's the whole "rice sock" concept.
It might be a good idea to buy a thermometer to test your theory. A high temp could also point towards an infection which could contribute to the high BGs?

I was trying to figure out why there wasn't a "911" icon

I'm sorry Sienne & Carl! I just now got back on the computer and seen your posts; I didn't realize how serious that would sound..... Removed it from subject line!!!

Will a "human" thermometer be okay? Gobbles is a laid back guy, so he may not even feel it. Rectally with some sort of lubricant?

Check this out~ I just added a few notes to his SS: "Playing like a crazy @+7--running around, chasing paper balls & did a somersault :dizcat Ate 1/2 can FFLC@+8. Preening, Sociable, Alert. "

Nice slide! That subject caught my attention too! You should see how we react when someone accidentally hits the candle icon!!! Glad that all is well!

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 +8 168

It caught my eye, too - so glad all is well!!! We LLers can be a very nervous bunch when we see something might be amiss with one of "our" kitties!!

Gobby is doing a lovely slide today!!! Have a great one, Kat!

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 +8 168b +9.5 233

Amy, Ann & Tara--thanks; he is so much better than last night with those nasty numbers...hopefully we won't see red or black anymore...!!! Have a lovely weekend

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 +8 168 +9.5 233 PMPS 438

sheesh, Gobbles, you really don't need to bounce off of blue!

What do you think about increasing his dose? It has been 10 cycles on this dose with the lowest number a 91. He sort of did the "high before the break" thing last night, but I was sure hoping for more of a drop than just to 168.

Re: 2/22 Gobbles AMPS 492 +6 291 +8 168 +9.5 233 PMPS 438

Unless you feel he is acting lethargic or feels much warmer when you pick him up as he would with a temp, I wouldn't stress him by taking it. Gracie's ears are warmer when she's been sleeping; some times I need to warm them, sometimes not.

And your subject line gave me a start, too   Aren't we all so reactive here!

Hi Libby, I had almost posted today re: a dose increase. What's your recommendation? He gets his AM shot at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow (well, tonight). I would be happy to increase; I want to do what is necessary to get my sweet sugar boy to at least stay in the lake!!!

He gets lethargic when his BG rises above 400. By lethargic I mean very tired, goes into a dark room and just doesn't want to be bothered. I'd rather not take his temp when he's feeling like that....but am willing to, when he's up and about... Can I use a human thermometer?

Re: 2/22 Gobbles PMPS 438 +5 384 ? dose increase ?

Libby had wondered what I think of a dose increase. I'm all for it. I am not sure though, if I should increase .25 or .50 ? I'm leaning towards .50 increase... Can someone tell me their opinion???

Re: 2/22 Gobbles PMPS 438 +5 384 ? dose increase ?

no advise , just saying hi and to tell gobbles mr.p to do its job
ruben's ears also get hotter when he sleeps
