FABULOUS! Both that i am finally back in the Land of the Living and that Crystal has all this yellow! That's super!
I definitely think you can reduce the amount of testing you're doing. Save some money on your strips. What I look at is how much change there is since the last test, ie, is the kitty dropping fast? and if there is a danger of the cat going into low numbers, ie, under 50. While cats don't have a constant rate of blood sugar dropping, you can make some predictions based upon what is happening in that particular cycle. If you look at punkin's ss - which is not a particularly happy site as I had a devil of a time controlling his blood sugar, you can see that I didn't test that much unless he was headed to low numbers. He was on Lantus, so my testing was mostly between preshot and +5.5, which he fairly consistently had his nadir. Your testing needs to reflect the Lev action.
The other thing I'd suggest is at least sometimes varying up the times you test - so you don't end up with stripes of testing on the spreadsheet with those big untested white areas that Sandy refers to. You don't always have to mix up the test times, but sprinkling tests here and there is a great way to fill in the picture.
I would stick with increasing every 4 cycles at this point until we see BLUE more than just once.
And your question yesterday about breathing - punkin had a definite stridor. That snoring sound that is somewhat endearing. It occurs from excessive growth of soft tissue in the airways. It resolved with his SRT. Others have warned about the dangers of putting an acro cat on their back because of the airway concern. Punkin often slept on his back and it didn't bother him, but it's something for you to be aware of if Crystal doesn't want to be on her back it might be because it's bothering her breathing.
I have a side-by-side photo of punkin before acro and after showing his changes. I'll find it and post it.
