No condo lately.
His Bean is super low on energy. Can't wait to watch Morpheus' OTJ video though.

Maverick has been peeing more than normal lately. Not sure why. His blood work still isn't back in but it wasn't something I really thought about before the vet appointment. Maybe its just a one off type thing.

Not sure what to make of his numbers. +4 should be his nadir but a handful of times its been above his preshot reading. Is this the 20% meter variation?

I'll try and do a two hour curve today but his ears are looking really red and I can't find the polysporin anywhere.

Morning Guys!

Hope you all are doing ok... you sound tired in your post.

We can't be the energizer bunnies all the time... or ... should I say energizer beanies...?

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Good morning, Karrie!
You'll enjoy Morpheus's OTJ video, it's adorable!

I know what you mean about the weird numbers. I have gotten nadirs higher than preshots as well, but it's never consistent. Are you feeding Maverick the same food, with presumably the same water content? The good thing is that you have current blood tests in the works, so you'll have some useful information soon. Hang in there. Poor earsies, though... Chaos's always look worse than they are because they're white/pink. I hope you find the polysporin soon. Maverick probably hid it, thinking it could be the end of all tests!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Hi, Karrie and Maverick :YMHUG:
I hope you are ok.. hang in there.
Maverick's #s continue to look good, nadairs to change. I am anxious for the bloodwork to come back & I know you are too.
Happy Sunday to you both.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Hi Nicole, sorry about the extreme fatigue. Did you ever get the bloodwork done and results? Thanks for your post last night about the Confirm meter. How do you like it? I'm not really sure where Maggie's Nadir is either, as it changes.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

I LOVE the confirm meter. I drive four hours for test strips darnit. They take minimal blood and suck up the drop super fast. I think I've had maybe one or two errors ever.

Ok thanks for the feedback. Maybe I won't do a curve today and save his ears.

I did get my blood work back. A little low on iron (not a lot) - I'm a vegetarian though so thats understandable. My HDL is still low but up .4 (was .60 with low normal being 1.2) and its up to 1.0. Nothing to explain the darkness all around my eyes. Or the fatigue. So I'm trying to boost my activity which seems to result in being more tired.

So I figure.... I was a zombie in a past life and I need a diet of brainz. Brains. .... Brains.

Nicole, I hope you open a condo today. LOVE the picture of baby and the nanner.

did they check your B12 level? I'm vegetarian too, and mine was on the lowish end of normal. i hadn't realized there aren't many vegetarian food sources for B12, have now been supplementing with Meowzi's methyl-B12

also, and this isn't peculiar to just vegetarians, did they check your vit D level? mine was significantly below the normal range. started supplementing that too *sigh*

i still don't feel great all the time, but i'm definitely feeling less tired and at least a little more intelligent than i was 2 mths ago. back then i was sooooo tired and feeling so stupid and couldn't remember anything or focus or think ... it was like i was in a daze most of the time.

i assume your thyroid function was checked?

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Hi Karrie,
Sorry to hear that you are tired. Maybe vitamin B-12 might help? My old aunt, who lived to be 99, swore by her vit. B-12 shots, which she got every month or so. She had lots of energy. I think maybe you need to get outside in the nice winter air!!!

It sounds like Maverick's nadir might be changing. But he has really nice numbers in general. Rusty used to get higher numbers than the pre shot around +4 in the nighttime cycle, but that has stopped happening.

Have a good holiday weekend and get some sleep!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Honestly I don't know what tests she ran. It was to help diagnose my fatigue problem that she knows I've been dealing with for about two years now. I had severe anxiety during this time but did a 12 week CBT course a year ago and started medication (non traditional) six months ago and my anxiety is hugely improved. I had butterflies perpetually for two years and they went away about three months ago. But my energy level just will not come back. It started with a long stretch of insomnia back in summer of 2008. I've gone off the depo shot last year too hoping normalizing my hormones would help. Maybe this is my new normal which would be scary. I will get a copy of my blood work mailed to me and look this up. I've tried to take vitamin supplements but they seem to give me migraines. I never thought I could maybe get them in a different format. I'll have to look up your kittie's supplement LOL.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Thank you for that article. I don't think I'll wait for her to mail me my blood work. I think I'm going to make an appointment. I don't want another year of this. The article describes exactly how I feel. Even with the little blips/up days followed by a truck hitting me. I'm going to print the article and bring it with me. Thank you so much!!!!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Sorry for the fatigue - I can't offer any more suggestions than what has already been posted. I hope the energy level improves.

Maverick sure is looking good - such very nice numbers. Great job!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Try not to exercise vigorously. Walk a little, then rest, then walk again. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

you're welcome! if it's b12, it should be an easy fix (once you know that's what it is!). like i said, i still don't feel great the entire time, but it's a huge improvement from before. i get re-tested in april to see how i'm doing.

if your b12 wasn't tested before and you're requesting it now, may as well ask to add in the vit D test too. and thyroid function but that's pretty standard, you may have been tested for that already.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Did they ever do a test for Fibromyalgia - it's trigger points they test. My Rheumatologist treats patients for it.
You're getting a lot of good advice here. Maverick is looking good!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Good Morning Karrie. I'm sorry you feel so bad.

Maverick is looking wonderful, and what a nice amps :-D

You wrote in Checkers' condo, that Maverick is a plastic bag licker. Too funny :-D
Checks also loves plasic. He will try to get into any plastic bag I'm dumb enough to leave where he can get it. He likes to sit on grocery bags; I think it's the crinkly noise. One time as I had my back turned, he crawed into one of those heavy duty bags with a zipper, that sheet sets come in.
I took a photo before removing him from danger.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

I was recently told by an esthetician that I should use Arnica under my eyes for that darkness--Natural & supposed to work--Havent done it yet though--
Look Moonie was 210 pmps last night and at +5 228(+5 is about her nadir) so I am attributing that to the bounce from the 59 yesterday--
Hope all blood work comes back normal for both of you!
Have a restful Sunday!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Beautiful start for Mav today, Karrie! So sorry about the fatigue. I went through that a couple years ago after a bout of mono, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone! I concur on making sure your doc runs your B12 numbers. My mom has chronic B12 issues, and she has found that liquid supplements help extend the period in which she needs shots... without the supplement she needs them weekly, with them, she can usually go 3-4 weeks (and it could be longer, if she would not inexplicably stop taking them on the weekends).

We both use Nature's Bounty Liquid B Complex. Do you have CVS or Walgreens there? It usually costs around $8/bottle, but if you have CVS or Walgreens there, they throw them on sale B1G1 Free pretty often. I have several bottles and would be happy to send you one to try!

Hope you can get to the bottom of things soon! ((hug))

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

I was thinking the same hing as Sienne....that Mavs numbers look pretty flat which is awesome!!!

I'm sorry you are still not feeling well. I just read an article in the paper today that said that people with chronic fatigue have always been told to rest more, exercise less and now they are finding what helps them the most is vigorous exercise....altho you said you tried that. Sounds like you've gotten a lot of good suggestions. I think the thyroid test is important to check on, too. Lots of women are hypothyroid and don't realize it..I am and take low dose thyroid med for it. It can really lower your blood pressure so you don't feel like doing anything. Hope you feel better.

BTW...my sweet GA Maxie was a plastic chewer. We stored opened boxes of stuff in large ziploc bags and he bit almost all of them...supervised. I can't bear to throw them away now.

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

if you havent had the thyroid check...i think that test is vital...i have PTC that went undiagnosed for far too long, and it wreaks havoc with my energy levels...
I'm just sayin'...sounding motherly, i know, but it is really important.

nice amps, Mav!

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Maverick has such a beautiful SS... very cool colors. And it's been that way for some time.
I'd ask you for some photos to use in other's OTJ videos but I keep thinking I'll be making one "starring" Maverick very soon.

Come on Maverick, I know you can do it! I've got you on my watch list.

Karrie I hope you and your docs figure out how to help with the fatigue. That must be very frustrating.
(((Hugs)))

Re: 2/20 Maverick AMPS 93

Do most of you guys have tomorrow off? Its a holiday for a lot of people in Canada tomorrow. I only get it off if the Americans do. If you guys don't I'll just be slacking off instead of chillaxing.

She better have tested my thyroid or I will be finding another doctor. Which of course I don't want to do lol. I will be asking her to entertain me regarding the B12. Reading that article really hit home. I couldn't do a needle on myself. The nasal spray sounds really cool though. I'll be checking to see if its available in Canada. My mom wants me to buy one of them SAD lights, but I'm not depressed. Just tired. I'm interested in seeing what she tested for.

Thank you so much guys for the suggestions and advice. I'm bookmarking this thread so I can come back and read it for ideas to keep trying. And make notes for when I meet with my doctor.

And CD... Maverick has gone up to .20 LOL. It will be a while before pics are needed. Loved the special appearances in todays video though. And I was laughing out loud with the Michael Jackson sequin glove. That made my day.

Karrie, Mavericks SS is a beautiful sea of green. I must have missed something. As I am typing you are saying you upped his dose. Now I have to go look for the reason.

My DD has the SAD light for seasonal depression, and it didn't help. Maybe she didn't sit long enough in front of it. Takes patience.

The book I just got is On Thin Ice, about truckers, and the perilous journeys they often have to endure.
About "survival on the world's deadliest roads."
I have't started it yet. Just got it from the library, 'cause I'm too cheap to buy books. :-D
