Good Morning LL ~O)

Thanks for the visits yesterday.

I got a call this morning from vet's office and in regards to the testing for iaa and arocat, they will not do it on Saturday's appointment since it needs to be shipped overnight. I need to keep that appointment and also bring her back in on Monday for the tech to do the blood draw. I am going to have to go during my lunch hour, which is going to be a bit stressful, 30 min drive home, try and get her in the carrier then to the vets office...whew! Also she said the cost for overnight shipping was going to be between $50 and $75 then the cost of the tests and the blood draw fee. Yikes. Guess I will be eating Ramen noodles for a week
Does that shipping seem high to anyone that has done this before?

She is starting the anxiety induced alopecia again, amazingly she has been able to reach around and get her fur right between her shoulder blades. Maybe the vet can prescribe anti-anxiety meds?
She was purry last night, her fur is in it's softer stage, she had a bout of diarrhea this morning, I am noticing its more when she eats Friskies than with the Fancy Feast. I wonder if that difference could do it. Still urinating a lot and hunger is still intense. She only wanted to play a little while last night, but at least she did get up to bat around the "mice"
Hoping she is surfing nice in blue today while I am at work.
Vines to all kitties and beans that may need them! And I hope everyone has a great day. Thanks for the visits and replies yesterday.

Miss Mary Grace is showing you that she can surf nicely today. I hope that she gives you some very lovely #s. I've used 100% psyllium for diarrhea, and I think Forti Flora may also help with that, too. I hope you guys have a nice day.

Hey Angela-
I am going to order some psyllium or forti flora today. I, too hope my little Miss Mary Grace has some good numbers! Hope you are having a good day too!!

hi elizabeth!

yes, that shipping seems high. with the weather like it is, i don't think it has to be shipped refrigerated. if i were you, i'd call MSU (there is a phone number on their site) and specifically ask how they want it shipped. i say that because i did that and they told me that they had a preference. i think i also asked about shipping refrigerated and they said in the summer it needed to be, but not in the winter. you would just have it put in something like styrofoam. *I THINK* double-check that to be sure.

Not sure if blood can go in a flat rate box, but if so, it should just be a few bucks.

the vet took punkin's blood to the post office for the first test, and i think i did get charged something awful for shipping, but i'm pretty certain others didn't pay extreme shipping charges. and i think when i had punkin's blood rechecked after a year it was something like $15. that was with a different vet.
