OMG I must have done a furshot last night! Oh well we have to go off to the Animal Shelter w/ Emma today anyway, so traveling numbers.

:YMSIGH: :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH: Yesterday I found out that I am legally required to turn a found cat in to the county. :YMSIGH: If no one claims her in 5 days I can adopt her legally. On the bright side she won't be around here as she gets over her URI and they will take care of getting her healthy. So no more worrying about Tess getting sick from Emma. AND no more having to change clothes before coming in every time I go outside! I don't care if this is CA, it's winter and too cold for that! :roll: nailbite_smile So 5 days of waiting to see if I can get Emma back. I fell bad about turning her in, but she will be well taken care of. Quite frankly what our vet estimated to treat her was more than we could handle right now too. :YMSIGH:

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, Tess is lovey and contented this morning,I think she know Emma is leaving, at least for awhile.

Morning guys bummer on the furshot. Awwww sucks you have to turn LWC in, hope you get her back! Maybe it is a blessing in disguise and you were get her back all healthy! Hope you have a great Caturday!

I missed that LWC got a name! :-D Now you have to keep her! Sounds like it'll work out great, letting the county handle the URI, and hopefully you can get her back healthy and happy. Now, Tess, come on down some, no need to be quite so dramatic.

I agree, it's good for now, that you have to turn her in. It would really suck, if you took her in and then had to pay heaps for illness you didn't know about. It's not like you're abandoning her....the shelter will take good care of her, and you can get her back healthy. :smile:

Tess what's up on the red floor. Your bean wants traveling numbers, but you overshot the goal!

Our district is the same way for stray cats. They aren't legally yours until the shelter has made an attempt to find her home, but then she'll be yours clear and free. And they'll pay for getting her healthy. Will they spay her too if needed? Ours would do that plus deworming/shots and do either tattoo or microchip before adopting out.

Bummer on the fur shot. It must have been catching! Rusty is recovered from his, so Tess should come down now, too.

I hope that all will work out well for Emma and that she will be returned to you healthy and happy. And I hope that Tess will accept her!

WHOA! Tell Tess that she should not go searching for Mannie - red floor is not good for her.... Well at least she is coming down. maybe those tow can find the yellows at least together. Paws crossed. :-D

Well bummer on Emma. I hope she will be there when you go back in five days. At least this way she will get the vet care she needs, get healthy, etc. Perhaps that is all good. I so hope Tess will accept her when she comes home. :-D

I was tuning in to my LWK, aka Emma story. Oh I didn't realize we are legally required to turn in a lost kitty to the county, but makes sense as that's the first place the Owner looks. I hope whatever happens works out the best for Emma, and I think that would be with you and DH and Tess though.

Nice slide so far, so I don't think the furshot will be much of a factor. Blues tonight? We got back later than usual after our trip up north since we ran errands up there. We don't get away that much anymore. :?
Emma is at the shelter and she let us know what she thought of the whole trip! cat(2)_steam Good news, they allow you to "pre Adopt" a cat you bring in. So unless the owner shows up, she is ours next Friday afternoon. Normally cats are taken over for spay the night before, but they said they would take her over Friday morning. Otherwise we would have to wait until the next Wednesday. They only do spays on Wed, Thur, Friday. For the adoption fee of $75 they spay/neuter, check for FeLV/ FiV, vaccinate, medicate for any health issues and I think chip. I forgot to ask about worming, but I would think so. If not there is also a vet health check voucher and I'll get her checked for that. Apart from the eyes she looks healthy though, nice fur and not at all skinny. A worm check is a good idea, since she always seem ravenous.

I'm wondering how much I need to worry about germs she may have spread outside. Anyone know how long things like that will be a danger outside? I plan on steam cleaning the laundry room tomorrow.

Sorry you had to Emma in but she will be back soon. It will be nice to get all of that taken care of while she's there. Have a great night Ann!
