Yesterday
Shadow has been having diarrhea all morning. He vomited up his 4am snack somewhere between 4 & 8am and then didn't eat breffis. He had a few bouts of clear bile vomit and we headed for the vet office. She gave a shot of pepcid and sent us on our way armed with carafate and a probiotic that is a capsule and a tube of greasy gunk. She gave him a B12 shot too.....
So, now I am watching his numbers drop and trying to slowly get something into him. He ate a few licks of babyfood ham....that usually interests him at first but then I don't give that to him anymore after the first few licks. Let's see...I gave him a syringe of gravy with a drop of honey just now. So far, he has kept it down. He just went to the LB and had a deposit of more soupy/pudding textured poo.

So our work is cut out for us today. They couldn't run tests just yet since I got there just at closing time . Oh, he is at Raja's bowl now! That is a good sign (although Rajaus usally only leaves the ceramic glaze on the bowl when she is finished so I am not sure what he is eating.)
Poor little Shadow. He is such a good boy. He weight is down since the last time we were there which is not a good thing. I have been trying to give him a bit more food and sometimes he eats it and sometimes not.
I am so afraid of the Pancreatitis since he had it a couple of months ago. So i am glad to get a jump on stuff to calm his stomach a little and hope that it helps him. Will have to go back Monday and have blood drawn....test and see if there is something brewing. He has been eating well and doing fine right up until the vomit this morning. Hope he will feel better soon.
DD and I had an adventure together...bringing her new cat Roxie to the vet too...so I have had quite a few interesting vet days ....will tell you about that in Raja's condo i guess.....
Hugs to you all!

Oh no! Pancreatitis was my first thought too. I'm so sorry Shadow's not feeling well again. Poor boy. They really wouldn't even do BW? How long does that take? Will you go back then on Monday for tests? Sending tons of feel-better vines and I hope the pepcid and carafate help.

I hope Shadow is feeling better, now. Maybe if you put some food in Raja's bowl, he'll eat it, if she doesn't notice it?

I know if I miss one dose of Pepcid, J.D. throws up bile. He just needs his Pepcid twice a day. I also give Ondansetron twice a day. Everytime I've tried to take him off it, he goes off his food a little bit. So, I just keep giving it to him.

Is Shadow on an antinausea med.?

Awww Pat, I'm sorry sweet Shadow isn't feeling well. Oh gosh, I hope it's not p'itis again
I hope it's one of those one day things, we never find out the cause of. Isn't it encouraging, that his diarrhea turned to pudding poo?
Sending healing vines for Shadow's tummy and your heart. :YMHUG:

Well, he ate on his own....no vomiting since earlier this morning. I have a dose of mirtz to give him....and a dose of bupe if he needs it. But so far, the carafate coated his stomach and the shot of pepcid helped him too. No other meds except for that probiotic.
(Proviable....there is a paste that helps firm up stools and a capsule to replenish helathy bacteria.)
He is sitting here next to me now....in Raja's spot on the couch. I hope he continues to eat. I left the plate out and he went up and ate the rest of it an hour after their usual snack time. So great to see!
She said the mirtz would help with the nausea a little too....but the pepcid seems to have calmed his stomach down. Will have them do blood work on Monday I guess....
Thank you all for stopping by! Hugs!
