Doesn't look like he's liking the OTJ trial what so ever. All blues. The 108 looked promising. But he ate tuna juice marinated turkey and giblets - 1oz at +3 all the way up to 134 at +6 (no food in between). So I think this says it all?

Hugs to Claudia who is waiting on Rocket's ultrasound.

Re: 2/2 Maverick

Ok - I'll give him one more chance darnit. I don't think he's had a 130+ number since two weeks after starting insulin (nov 15th).

I wish his eating was consistent the past couple days also. We shall see what his PM reading brings. Come on Maverick!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Hi, Kerrie & Maverick.. I know from experience the Blues are nailbite_smile while on an OTJ trial.. I did post on the Temporary Board.. Baby saw a few Blues on her OTJ trail if you would like to look at her SS (lines 109-122) she did not have very many, but I do recall that those more experienced said Blues can be ok & not to worry ;-)
Cheering you both on.. Happy Day Two :RAHCAT

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Happy Day 2 come on Maverick sorry Karrie for missing day one yesterday when everything crashed:( hope his numbers come around and the trial goes as planned

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Not really worried, more nervous. I don't want to wait too long but then what do we have to lose doh, Perspective *light goes on*. Thanks for sharing about Baby. I appreciate it.

Thanks Lisa :)

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Fingers and paws crossed that Maverick will decide to come down without the juice. Check back with you later.

Hi Kerrie,

Hope Maverick's #'s come down for you. I know it must be disapointing to see blue when your on an OTJ trial. Either way he's doing fantastic Kerrie.

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Karrie, you and Mav are doing great! Fingers and paws crossed that the numbers come down on their own soon! Even if the OTJ trial isn't going as you'd like, the numbers are still safe and healthy ones. Hang in there!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

All crossed over here too for Maverick's ' OTJ!!! Keep the faith! He will make it!!
ou have worked very hard!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Hi Kerrie and Happy Day 2 to Maverick. I remember Maggie ran a little high a few times while on her trial. Is Maverick eating any better?

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

C'mon Maverick...you can do it!!! We're all sending you some super healing pancreatic vines....

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

He did go back and eat some plain turkey and giblet a few hours after the tuna juice T&G earlier. I think he's eaten about 2.5 oz over the whole day so far. I was so tired last night I don't know how much he ate before AMBG. I think he ate at the most 3oz last night.

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

I hope Maverick comes down a little bit for you, and I wouldn't give up the OTJ trial just yet. You know how our kitties are -- they consistently surprise us, so tomorrow may be a totally different story for Maverick. I'm glad he ate a little bit on his own today. Keeping fingers and paws crossed!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +6 135 :)

Maverick is living up to his name today. Rooting for you to go green tonight, buddy.

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

OMG I soooo was not expecting 164 *smack head*. I don't think you guys will have me NOT shoot this one.

No worries about schedule. Let me know what we should be doing tonight.

I dropped the insulin out of the fridge today though looking for something. Is this enough to ruin the cartridge?

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

i dropped a solostar pen twice in one day...and it was still good. wiser folks can weigh in for you.

ouch is right...Mav...back to the green, buddy!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

Good to know about your dropped pen Celi.

So the other question is how much to shoot - go back to skinny .25 (.10 may just have been wonky numbers and not a reverse curve).

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

Dropping the insulin was Freudian--or perhaps a "message" to carry on without it!
Sorry, Karrie, I can't advise you about whether or not to abort the trial, but I can tell you that I would also be apprehensive in your situation. Maybe give it one more cycle and see what happens?

Ella

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

No way LOL. Not with that number - the shed is drained and his real colours are coming through. Smack head smilie, green smile smilie.

And he got his appetite back this afternoon - eating 3oz from +6 to +11. More earlier on than later.

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

I am no expert - but I feel like I have seen some people 'help' their kitty out a few times in an OTJ trial. IE - above X number they shoot a micro dose, otherwise let it play out. Could be making things up! LOL If it were me...I would give a .10 dose & hopefully have someone with more experience tell you where to go from here. Sorry to see him at 164 - he and Kazi are right there together on numbers/dosing!

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

Hi, Kerrie.. I dunno, I would want to shoot that too.. but am bumping you for more experienced eyes.. those that can see past the # ... they see the big picture ;-)

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

i agree with resuming insulin at 0.1u bid.
this isn't an isolated higher number. we're seeing a trend. i'd nip it in the bud if i were in your shoes.
maverick's very, very close. let's give him a little support so he's ready for the next trial...

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 164 ouch - dose?

Thanks Jill I'm not worried. It was a good experience. Made my stomach turn butterflies every morning.

He just tested at 125 1.5 hours after the last test. I am assuming because of that high 160 I still shoot. Just want to double check. I have the .10 drawn up.

Re: 2/2 Maverick +12 now 125 still shoot?

follow maverick's lead. :)
that 125 really surprised me. the fact that maverick brought himself down that much means something. let's see where he goes with this.
i think that's the first time i've ever suggested shooting and not shooting within 5 minutes. lol!

Yeah and he's loving every minute of it - he's in control.

My stomach seriously got the flutters at test time... like I pulled on an arm of a slot machine and I'm waiting to see what shows up.

Atta boy Maverick! Hopefully his pancreas just needs a day to really get working on its own and tomorrow will find him in the GREEN!
