Hi everyone,

Sorry I have not posted an update. I have still been looking at the board and checking in on condos though! I have been trying to work on a new dosing protocol for Sid. I've started TID for him as a trial. I am hoping this will work for him as well as it has worked for some others. I have gotten a lot of good advice from a lot of beans on both PZI and lantus regarding this and I appreciate all of the concern for Sid. He is such a great little guy that I am trying to take everyone's advice into consideration and do what is best based on what I have experienced and observed with him so far. :-D

We are blessed to have so many experienced caregivers in LL to help you even if you are using a different insulin. Paws crossed the TID dosing will help Sid.

You are amazing, Lydia.....I know Sid is fighting because of you and your love for him. ((((Lydia)))...I'm so glad you continue to keep us posted.

Keep feeling better Sid and let's see some nice BGs!

Wishing you the Best Of Luck with the TID dosing. I hope it helps him a lot. Thank you for the update. :YMHUG:

Hi Lydia,
I hope TID dosing will help and fingers and paws are crossed for lower numbers. How is Sid feeling? Is he eating? How are you holding up?
You and Sid are always in our thoughts and prayers. Come on, Sid, you can do it, buddy! Get well and strong!

Hugs,
Ella & Rusty

p.s. thanks for visiting Rusty's condo; it is always great to get a visit from you.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all of your kind thoughts of encouragement for Sid. As for Sid feeling better/eating (antijinx!!) let's just say that he has been spending all of his time - well 90%- sitting in front of the fridge! he wolfs down his food at each meal. He has also been grooming more. :-D Last week he spent almost all of his time sleeping on the couch and barely moved so I'm very happy to have to step around him whenever I am in the kitchen. Of course it's kind of heartbreaking to eat something in front of him when it isn't his time for a meal though

Such good news! Hope the TID dosing helps. Sid's appy coming back and his grooming, what wonderful signs that he is feeling better.

You have no idea how happy this makes me!

Tawny is smiling too!

I just want to give you the biggest cuddle, so good to hear that your appy is back. Lucky I'm not your bean I don't think I'd be able to resist you in the kitchen :-D

Lydia,
I don't know you and Sid, so I hope you don't mind me stopping by or asking questions! nailbite_smile
Is Sid on Lantus? I am trialing TID dosing with my cat, Missy. She has been on it just a bit over a month. My vet wanted me to do a month at the same dose, as I had been dosing her to another protocol which had her on differing doses fairly often. My vet's idea was to see what her pancreas did when it 'expected/was used to' a stable amount of insulin. And then we would work from there. Missy has done better with the TID dosing, although I am seeing a fair amount of bouncing. She had a dental done two weeks ago and has had some beautiful numbers since then, but now two days of low 300's.
I really don't have a lot to add......just happy to see someone trying the same thing. Would love to hear how Sid is doing on TID and would be happy to share my experiences.
I hope you have great success with TID. It is a bit tough, but do-able, from a bean's point of view. :-D
