Good Morning, Everyone,

We are off to the vet for Rusty's radiograph/x ray. We will leave him and pick him up later. Rusty had a good night. He tried again to hack up that pesky hairball, with no luck. I'm hoping that the car trip to the vet will help! Otherwise all is well. Good test, good shot, breakfast (1st sitting) eaten, a schmooze (during which I explained to him what he will be doing today).

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Morning Ella ~O)

Congrats on the successful fridge installation, what a relief that must be

Hope the Meister has a good vetty day, and ejects the hairball  You guys have a good one :-D

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Good morning Ella. I hope Rusty goes to the lagoon this morning after the stress of his vet visit wears off. I hope that his x-rays show nothing but normal results.

Glad that you finally got your new refrigerator. Do you have it all covered in magnets yet?

Have a great day.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Hi guys .. pretty blues for rusty .. Good luck at the vetty's today .. I'm sure he'll be happy to get back home and have some friends over to get that smell off him :o Glad the fridge installation went well .. have a great day guys!

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Hi Ella.. Sorry for the double post but I forgot to tell you thank you for reminding me about putting PurrFace's name in the subject line and to say that I hope all goes well with Rusty's vet visit today.

Have a great day

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

Sending good vetty visit for Rusty vines! I hope the x-rays go well, and nothing is amiss there. Right Rusty?

YAY! A new frig!! I hope you are happy with it, once to can "load her up"!

Have a great day today!

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Thanks for all the good thoughts, guys. Roni, it is great to see you on the Board today. I hope that you and Brad are doing OK. Hugs to you!

Rusty didn't hack up the hairball, but he didn't vomit at all in the car, so that's a plus. He also made both contributions to his "traveling litterbox". Fingers and paws crossed for a "normal" x ray.

Ella

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Morning Ella, sending good vines for all to go well today with Rusty's X-rays. Mags says she will be more than happy to keep a watch over the Green Lagoon until the LagoonMeister returns. Yay for the new refrigerator installation. Oh and way to go  with the two contributions to his "traveling box."

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Sending good vetty/x-ray vines for Rusty! Whoo Hoo on no vomiting! :thumbup and on the new ridge fitting so well!

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Hi Ella

Me too, sending good vetty vines. Sending "get that hairball up" vines too, but not on the beans' bed.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146; vet day

Paws crossed for a good vetty report from the X-ray. When I took my Buster (GA) in for a heart X-ray, they didn't find anything in the heart but found he had spinal stenosis. So I'm hoping for an "all clear" X -ray for Rusty. And that he gets rid of that hairball before he has to come home. Neko and Maggie are doing shift work on the lagoon, so you can tell Rusty it's covered and he can take his time recovering on the shore.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Hi again,

Rusty is home and getting back to normal (he was hungry and had 2 small meals after returning home--at +8.5 and +10.5 and later his dinner and some fd chicken treats.
He had several x rays. His vet was concerned about his noisy breathing, his occasional coughing, and his congestion. She had suspected that he might have polyps in his nasal area, but the x ray of his skull was clean. The lungs, however, were not normal: they appeared "fluffy" on the x rays (too light--instead of dark--and with what looked to me like swirly "stuff" inside). She thinks this could suggest either an infection (bacterial or fungal), an asthmatic condition resulting from an allergy, or cancer (hopefully NOT!). She took cultures and sent two tests to the IDEXX Labs: "Anaerobic & Aerobic Culture" (with a C&S); "Cytology w/Desc. (1 site)" (I don't know what this means). Results may be back this week. His heart is good. So we will see what we will see. Rusty has had noisy breathing and congestion for as long as he has lived with us and we always thought he had some kind of chronic condition. But the vet thought he sounded noisier when he went in for his recent exam and that is why she wanted to do the x rays.

We are keeping fingers crossed that whatever it is, it will be treatable. Maybe it will just "go away". His blood work and urinalysis are both good (latest blood work is on the Labs tab of his spreadsheet; I got the urinalysis results today and will add them tomorrow).

Rusty actually came upstairs this evening to sit with me in my study while I type this. He opened the closet door, dug around in a box, sat in my camp chair, licked plastic bags in the waste basket, and is at the moment watching something intently in the bookcase (a spider?)

He is such a joy.

Everyone have a good evening. We'll be watching "Smash".

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Rusty needs KTSS to help get the vetty smell off!!!

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

That's a nice PMPS considering Rusty was at the vet today. I hope you get good results back from the tests and it's nothing serious.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Hi Ella,
I'm hoping Rusty's results come back with "no big deal" attached to them. Sending lots of "no big deal" vines and prayers. He sure doesn't let the vet shoot his bgs up, does he?!! Take good care. lots of hugs and scritches to you!

Rusty, we is on the way... no vetty smell can last long with all of us around!!!! Don't worry buddy, ..we're almost there... oliver

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Hey, Ella - Oh, YAY! on the new fridge fitting!

Sorry about Rusty's pesky hairball; I hope it resolves soon. Hope his X-rays show something that will go away on its own or something easily treatable! Pretty blues today, maybe Hershey will join Rusty there? I'm not holding my breath, though. ;-)

Hugs -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Many prayers and vines that the test results show "nuthin' at all!" My civvie Frankie is also a noisy breather and snores; when she was a bitty baby, she had very bad URI, and probably has some damage as result. It's hard when you don't really know their history.

Enjoy "Smash" and Rusty's charming company :-D !

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Prayers that it's something easy and treatable...
Scritches to Rusty.... always want that vetty smell gone asap...

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

(((Ella and Edward)))) Lots of prayers that it is just an allergic asthma that will clear up with a little TLC and a supplement or something easy. Gracie and Tobey have donned their warmest clothes to help bring KTSS. Tobey is prepared to give Rusty the massage of his life!! And, of course, it doesn't hurt that his very favorite and most beloved Auntie Ellabean has made cimmamum cookies. He took a nice long nap curled up in my lap late today so he can be prepared to do his best for Rusty.

Hugs, prayers, and love.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Nice numbers for a vetty day, paws crossed that the "no big deal" results are fast in coming back.

KTTS is on the way Rusty! We'll have you ready for the Lagoon in no time! Can't have vetty smell in the Lagoon! No Sir! No Way!!! -- Tess

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

I am sending vines for something insignificant on Rusty's test results, or a diagnosis of something easily treated. It must be a good sign that he is feeling so well! I know that you must be terribly worried. I will be waiting to hear the results.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Rusty's numbers look great today! I'm saying very loud prayers and sending a ton of vines for good results for Rusty. Hoping right along with you that it is a condition that can be easily treated.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

The descriptions are why Idexx calls the labs. There's a bit of info on their site.

Like everyone, I hope the test results give you good information.

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Also sending Rusty "it's nothing to worry about" test results vines!
I'm glad he's acting normal tonight! My civvie is a plastic-bag chewer (often at 3am  ).

Have a great evening, and I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts!

Re: 2/19 Rusty AMPS 146, +8.5 121, PMPS 166; back from vet

Thanks, everyone,

We had a good evening with some schmoozes and a good combing. Rusty was really hungry and I gave him 2 small servings during the evening, then the bedtime snack. And his nighttime food is waiting for him to come upstairs.

ni ni,

Ella & Rusty
