Good Sunday to all of you lovely beans and furbabies in LL.

We are on our 2 nd day with a dose increase and I am hoping for some lower numbers. 174 beats 215 or whatever she was yesterday. Morgaine is currently napping by the patio door in the living room. It is very nice out today and we are airing the place out as well. I lol'd at the AM scenario when I crawled out of bed this AM. All pee pads had been used in one form or another. There were 3 out in strategic places but she did not pee on them. she poo'd on one and walked across the other 2 with her wet pee paws. She did leave a little poo in the box, the one with the rubber mat material in it. And the pee puddle was in the middle of the mat. I'll keep reminding myself here, one day at a time.

We had 4 P's in place today so I will take that. Her poo is almost normal so another day and I will restart prozac.

All in all I am managing to keep this place clean. Tomorrow my cleaning gals are supposed to come for an extra day and clean the place up and deep clean my rug with the heavy Hoover machine. I also ordered a black light flashlight to detect all urine stains and I am going to clean those with the neutralizer and then do the rug one more time. I do believe I will get Morgaine back to using her LB. We have to discover what she wants in it. This little book I am reading is very good. she wastes no pages and just gives the instructions and reasoning behind it all. she says to put out several boxes and to start with unscented sandy clay litter using 1-1.5 inches. someone has done an extensive study and discovered that this is what the generic cat prefers. From there you are supposed to see which box kitty will choose to go in. The location matters but of course I do not have lots of locations so 2 boxes it is.

I still do believe this is a result of her sore neuropathy paws. Givng them time to heal is my first plan and all the rest will come. I did get a little foam bath on Morgaine last night but she got growly with me so I had to stop. Will do a litle more today.

Sending my best thoughts to all and lots of healing vines for all in need.

What a great report....super positive and so we're all sending our collective positive vines that Morgaine will continue on her path to wellness and using the LB!!

Have a great day, Rosalie!

I'm glad the book is full of great info. I've never read it myself, but have heard wonderful things from it from many different cat "experts". It sounds like you've got some good plans in the works...I'm sure you will find what ulitmately works for sweet Morgaine.

Great job, Rosalie! Good thing you've got that super-duper pair of patience pants. I think little box issues require more patience than bounces.

ETA: LITTER box (not little box). Crazy iPad.

Oh look at Morgaine go! Uh, maybe that wasn't the best choice of words. Nice drop Morgaine! Not too fast now. Just surf there.

My new goal for Morgaine is under 120. I think she feels best when her numbers are down there and I am seeing some glimpses of my sweet girl today. I think I have finally gotten my frustrations out and now I am accepting things for now so she is more relaxed as well. She is allowed in the LR after she pees and she doesn't usually come out here for long so all in all her confinement does not feel like a punishment to her and that is good because it isn't. It is merely a way for me to stay sane  !

Sienne, she does feel better when her numbers are lower. I do as well so I should know. I didn't know exactly what was causing the higher numbers but I am thinking the pumpkin may be a part of it. She may need to stay on the pumpkin with the prozac to help those stools. Such a balancing act we are all managing.

Thanks again for the good thoughts and encouragement.

It may be worth asking in Health what some alternatives to pumpkin may be. There may be some other source of fiber that would work and not raise her BG.

I used to give her psyllium powder and have some in my fridge but she developed an allergic reaction to it so I had to stop using it. She took a small amount of it for years. I will post in health to see if anyone has any other ideas. The pumpkin has been working beautifully. I also had some great success with slippery elm tea the last time she had severe diarrhea. It was very soothing to her entire digestive tract. I think i will try that again tomorrow. I have to time it so that it is given at a different time than her other supplements and meds. I will read my notes on it again and see how it works out.
