Verrrrry bouncy overnight on the graph. Down, up, down, up, down, up, and now starting down again. Cat! Although he did have quite the stressful day (for him) yesterday, what with all the ear pricks and two different sensor insertions (the first didn’t work right, kept ranging its readings from a whopping 120 points higher than the initial BG cross-check, to only 20 points off a couple hours later which had me hoping it was settling out… then back to 70 points too high again, so the wild variation made it unusable).
But all seems well with the new one - a couple cross-checks overnight did verify that he really was bouncy, not just the sensor; also the initial reading was good (I expect and am unconcerned about a 10-15 point variance, which has no clinical meaning until he’s down in green numbers). I’ve put in to Abbott for a replacement, and they’ve already sent an email back that they will ship a new one free of charge. So YAY!! on that, considering the cost of each, plus that I just used the last refill the vet had written for. They just want the bad one shipped back, in an envelope they will provide. There’re welcome to it (though I give no promises on its working for tests or whatever reason they want it back, considering that to get the glue off gently I soaked the thing in coconut oil. Oh well!)
I just hope the bounciness doesn’t resolve into a big slide down today. He’s maybe kinda due for one, and as today is my birthday, and actually sunny and above the freezing temperature too, I really want the chance to leave the house!
Although thanks to getting up through the night to check him, I’m now going to take the chance to go back to bed for a couple of hours. Yay for a weekend off…
