HAPPY TUESDAY!! Thank you for visiting us today!
You may recall that Doug had shoulder surgery yesterday (ac separation). He slept well last night (2 Percocet every 4 hours will do that!) and I slept (like a log!) between times of giving him his meds and taking care of the kitties. He slept in the rocker recliner and I slept on the futon to be near him. At 4:50am, when I got up to test/feed, bless his heart - he must've been on auto-pilot because he was trying to get up to do it! What a guy!! He spent his day alternating between sleeping and wanting to do SOMETHING! By suppertime, he was pretty stir-crazy, so we walked around the neighborhood (between rains). It took a lot out of him, but he was happy to be outside. Unfortunately, a coughing fit during supper reminded him that everything is connected to the shoulder! Almost immediately, he felt warm. I kissed his forehead to check for fever, then figured it was because of the stress of coughing. He kept getting redder until I was pretty sure he had a fever. Where in the world was I going to find a thermometer?! Finally found an old school one and his temp was 100.1. Gave him jello, a popsicle and some ibuprofen. Hoping it goes down and stays down. He cut the percocet down to 1 every 4 hours and is resting comfortably now.
Meant to test/feed earlier in the cycle, but it was +4.5 and he gave me a (66)!
 Maybe he IS listening?? Or, maybe he's just playing with me...or maybe he's planning shenanigans?! All P's are in place.
My hat is OFF to those of you who wear many hats, taking care of sick beans and your kitties, too!
Have a great night -
Libby (& Hershey, too!)
