186 @+2 :)
I ordered some half-dose marked syringes, it will be easier to be precise. I could not find any that were 1/2", hopefully the shorter needles will be OK. last time I tried shorter needles she was very high, but it was before I was here and it might have been that the dose was not right, I was only testing her one day a week then.

No steep drops :-)

Walmart's ReliOn syringes come with half unit markings. You want the 30 unit (0.3cc) syringes.

You can also order half unit syringes on www.adwdiabetes.com - they have several brands like Sure Comfort, Care Point Vet, Monojet, Ulticare, BD etc.

It's late tonight, how do you do it when you're not home at 12 hours? I left at 6PM, so at +11, and just cam,e back now, at +13. I decided not to do her shot before I left because I would bnot be home and was afraid she might be low. I will adjust tomorrow morning but I'm curious as of how you do it, what's the best way?

I realized that I could have fed her before leaving. I gave her a tiny snack. The problem with the automatic feeder is that she opens it, so I might as well give her food. She is very good at pulling the drawers out until it opens ;)

Most people here use the PetSafe 5 or CatMate 5 autofeeder that you can program to open whenever you want to offer a fresh meal while you're not at home. Some people also make "cat-sicles" by adding water to canned food and freezing in ice cube trays. After they melt, it's like offering a fresh meal. Some use the frozen food in the auto-feeder. With the auto-feeder, you can also program it to open to an empty slot 2 hours before shot time so that when you do your pre-shot test, it's not influenced by food.

That’s what we do in the summer: I froze portions and the woman who comes to feed her left them in the feeder. But now if she sees it, she’s just attacking it to get the food inside. I have to outsmart her  or get a new one that’s more difficult to open for her. I think she can pull the drawer inside enough that it makes the timer move.
