I looked through Ollie's ss and it looks like we haven't checked at +3 before so I'm trying not to panic. since I just increased his dose to 2.5 last night. He gets his inhaler treatment (corticosteroids) at +2 so I'm wondering if that could possibly affect his glucose this way? It's not supposed to flood his bloodstream I thought. Anyone else's kitty dealing with asthma too and using Flixotide (Flovent) inhalers? We'll see how he does later. I've never seen him over 400 since the reading at the vet's office when he was very first diagnosed in August of 2015.

He hasn't seen a low blue (and he may have dropped lower than that 146 last night before popping back up for amps) for a while so he may just be bouncing of that.

Another possibility is that what you are seeing is NDW, (new dose wonkiness) that's when we see a cycle or two of higher numbers when we take the dose up.
I don't think the inhaler would be responsible for the numbers, but if he is feeling unwell that could lead to higher BG levels.

ok, maybe it's the dose change then. He sure has not seemed unwell this morning. Of course this high number may be affecting him now. Thanks for checking in on my post and also for explaining "NDW" :)

Just for future reference, last night looked like he was a combination of a bounce clearing cycle, and depot from the skipped shot probably filling.

If it had been me I might have been tempted to set an alarm and catch a +8 or +9, though +6 is roughly when we get peak insulin action it doesn't always coincide with the nadir, so as he was dropping significantly, I would have wanted to get a better idea of how low the dose was taking him, by getting a test in that latter half of the cycle.

At night I usually liked to see his numbers remaining steady or heading up before I went to bed. I'm not saying he wasn't safe, but it just often helped me when it came to dosing and sometimes it helped to explain the following cycle.

I hear that. He has me up at 5 am so I have to get sleep. He has food before I go to bed and a bit after in his cat mate so it lets me get a few (not enough) hours of sleep and hopefully keeps him from tanking too low before the amps.

He is heading down. Got 392 at +4
