Memories can be such a wonderful powerful thing... I am ever so grateful that I have them. 10 months ago today Mannie left us to begin a new journey at the Rainbow Bridge. I can remember that day like it was this morning. I would like to share something that I wrote a few days ago, about Nicholas, memories, and one very special bond.
And then there was Nicholas and Mannie... Yesterday Nicholas talked alot about his bestest ever buddy. There was no tears, or sadness, just happy thoughts. We had sun streak through the kitchen in the morning. Nicholas looks up from his breffis and says - "look! We have sun! Mannie loves the sun!" That conversation went on for the longest time... How Mannie was in his garden, how he was playing, how much Nicholas wanted him to come home (I know...), how he liked to share lunch with him, and on and on and on. it was all so very touching. I had so wished I had the camera with me. We talked about Mannie's Garden, and how Lola and Bug and Elsa should make sure it is cared for. This was Nicholas's idea - blew me away. He thought too that his kitties at home: Puma, Serval and Tristan would also come and watch over Mannie' garden, and make sure Mannie was OK. He knew it was a sunny day, and that Mannie loved the sun. He felt too that Mannie had sent the sun yesterday. Yesterday became Mannie's day for Nicholas. It was the first sunny day we have had in a while, he just knew/felt it was Mannie's doing. Thank you Mannie, for remembering your very special hoomin-friend. He misses you alot. We all do.
Here's to you Big Guy! cat_pet_icon

Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! I just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, kitteh barista pilot!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! In honor of Tuna Tuesday, once again Lola and Bug, aka Paw Prints Pizza, will make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! It's tradition!, and these pizza pies totally rock! As a side benefit we have TUNA WATER too! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are really good today too!

I hope your day yesterday was a good one. Mine was good. I really didn't do much, well I did clean. Blech! But now this place sparkles, at least for one day, until the kitties leave all that cat hair, and I spill this and that, or track in the inevitable pine needles....  Lola got to play chase the vacuum again so she was happy.  And I did get in a morning walk, YAY! And I did get some progress made on my tax prep! WOOT WOOT! Here's what I wrote in last nights post: "Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Mellow ruled the roost here today. I managed a morning walk, before the supposed rains were due, and checked out a small trail I remembered from walks long gone, near Lund's Gulch Creek by my house, hoping that it would be a good one for Nicholas and William. Well, not really a trail anymore, that's long gone. bummer! The dept of public works are working on something connected to the creek, oh great on that. There are no trespassing signs all over the place too. sheshhh... so I walked where I could get a few hundred yards in only to discover that on the other side another housing development is going in where that portion of the woods used to be. wow on it all. not someplace that I will be able to take the boys too. The creek was pretty, but in that section there is no easy access. I did get all my tax prep work done, ready now to do the actual file part. I will wrap this up tomorrow, I'd really like this off my plate. done would be so good. Sorry I missed condos today, but I just wanted this stuff done! ;-) I will do better tomorrow. :-D " And I am sorry I missed just about everybody! :?

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties were good kitties yesterday, even Lola, for the most part... Lola decided that she would be my cleaning assistant, and caretaker of the vacuum. No matter what i did she was there.  What was funny was that I could see Bug peeking around the corner, trying to see what she was up too. Elsa could have cared less. She saw the vacuum and became scarce. Not a fan that one! Yesterday Bug and Elsa were once again in hibernation mode... winds were up, rains were on and off, and for them that meant nap time. So they did. Now why couldn't Lola have done that.... huh????? no way for Miss Lola. I was busy in the "office area": pulling records for tax stuff, trying to get a handle on medical stuff for last year. I had files open, file cabinets open, etc. Well... by golly! That sure was alot of paper, which was an open invitation for Lola. paper = shredding potential = great temptation = lots of rips = even more chews = one ARRGGHHHHH bean!  Such a helpful kitty she was! The look on her face was like "What? Why you mad? I'm just helping, see? "   All the while Elsa and Bug are dreaming of tuna pies, and bowls of milk.... Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone. Social day for me coffee with my friend in the afternoon. WOohOO! It should be a great day. :-D It will be perfect if I can get the tax stuff done in the morning. WOOT!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

That's a very beautiful short story of Mannie and Nicholas. Thank you so much for sharing that. :YMHUG:

I'm sorry to hear that your pathways are overgrown, and that new developments are popping up. It's unfortunately these days. :( I hope that you'll be able to find a new trail very soon; perhaps one that you haven't visited yet...?

I think Tiny, Groucho and Aurora will take a Tuna Pizza each, please! I'll have one of those calorie enriched ~O) s, thank you very much!

Good job on getting the taxes done! Yes, it's a pain, however, it needs to be done, and once it's done, you don't need to worry about it until next year. I hope that you'll get a lot back! :YMHUG:

Have a great day, and your day sounds like it'll be wonderfully relaxing. Go to Starbucks! :-D

I love the Mannie story. Amazing how much Nicholas can remember. Mannie did love his sun beams and his garden. ((((HUGS)))) Hard to believe it has been 10 months. Mannie was larger than life.

Nice on the cleaning. Oh Lola so wants to help. That is sweet. Of course, she is a little rambunctious about it. Have a great day Michelle!

How sweet with Mannie and Nicholas. I can't believe it has been 10 months.

How funny with Lola helping you with the cleaning and the taxes. Kitties don't understand being in the way.

Too bad you won't be able to take the boys to that creek.

I hope you have a fun social day today.

Morning everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O)

 CRR-AASSSHHHHH!!!!!!! Smash! THUD! splinter, splinter, splinter.... and down went two photos, glass broken all over the floor... and in the middle of it all sat Lola and Bug, with the cheering committee, aka Elsa, off to the side, rooting them on. :-x :?  Seems the marathon runners were very busy, running a warp speed, and chose a path that was amongst the framed photographs on one of the bookcases. Seriously guys? What is wrong with running and jumping and careening on the floor? Their look said it all "But MOM!!! That is not as much FUNS!" Guess so.    So we have cleaned it all up, the photos are still good, and now we check paws for glass. You gotta love it. In the meantime, Elsa went to bed and Bug and Lola have moved their track meet upstairs. ;-)

Morning Angela ~O) ~O) ~O) THX - Nicholas and Mannie had this really incredible bond, they were very close. -- I know on those new developments. I live in an area that has lots of woodsy spots, and slowly they are being developed. Kinda sad,. But YES on other trails. We are constantly looking to add new ones to our list, a kid friendly list. THX too on the tax thing. I will be glad when I finish them off today. Three cheers! oh yes - like this: Go to Starbucks! lol: I did!
Auntie Angela - you gots it, and pies for Tiny, Groucho and Aurora too. They will LOVES them - lots of tuna and lots o nip! :-D See you! ~~ Elsa, KBP

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the Mannie story. I too amazed at how much he remembers, being as young as he is. He talks about him all the time, about the garden, well all of it. I hope it will always stay with him. They were such good buddies. And yes on Lola, my little helper....  She just didn't udnerstand why I didnlt think it was fun too.

Morning Carla - THX on Mannie,. I know too, it seems like just eystrday that I was still testing and feeding and enjoying his presence. It takes me back to think it has been that long. Right you are n Lola - she didn't udnerstand why I kept pulling her out of and away from things. My thoughts too on that creek. oh well, we will find others. :-D

Good Morning Michelle,

Nicholas's memories of Mannie and his thoughts on how much Mannie is enjoying the sunshine are so moving. Mannie's garden is indeed a very special place. I like the idea that Elsa, Bug and Lola are tending the garden.

I am really sorry about that trail. And even more sorry about the "development" of your nearby woods. I may have told you about how Edward went around and pulled up surveyers' stakes when the woods near his house were about to be "developed" back in the early 1950s. Are you contemplating similar acts of sabotage??

Bummer on the chase through the picture gallery! What a mess. Now you have to clean all over again!!

I wish I were as far along on taxes as you are. Haven't even started yet, and we have to meet with our tax man in early March in NYC. I have to get busy!

Have a great day. My knee was feeling pretty good last night, but stiffened up again by this morning. Another walk this afternoon, for sure.

THANK YOU ELSA!!!

Ella & Rusty

Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. We did well here today. Things got done, I got out for a while, kitties are happy without any house destruction. :-D t has been so rainy and windy here, just awful all day. About 4 or so the sun broke though and it looks like we will have a really nice sunset tonight. The calm before the next pending storm, per the TWC: Rain, becoming more intermittent by 7pm. Mostly cloudy and windy. Temperatures slowly falling to near 39F. Winds SW at 20 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 85%. Well looks like we are not out of the woods, and neither are the mountain passes. They predict 2-3 more days of the same old stuff. The last report was that the snow is falling at 2-3" per hour at stevens pass, crazy.... Snoqualmie Pass has been closed most if the day. impressive snow fall.... YaHOO! Got the taxes done. Hooray on that. All done, but not filed. I will take a fresh look at them In a day or so, make sure all looks good, and I didn't screw something up, then file. It is such a relief to have them done, and to know I don't have to pay Uncle Sam. Happy dance! Seattle was good, alot of talk with Barb on the new manager they hired. Another case where the did not go with experience, rather with the new face, no prior payroll knowledge etc. I just do not understand the logic these days, why they hire youth over experience, especially when the position is a corporate payroll manager, with a payroll of over 85000 employees, covering just about every state we have.... . They will suffer as the new kid on the block is clueless.... oh well. Makes it tough, those that should get the job don't... imho, for sure. well anyways - it was good to see Barb, nice time, goods coffee. YAY!

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) :-D ah thx on Nicholas and Mannie. I too find it very touching, and wonderful. He has not forgotten much about Mannie. He so wants to know Mannie is OK. And wants to be sure the other kitties will take care of him if he needs it. I too thought the idea of Lola and bug and Elsa taking care of his garden was so so thoughtful, wonderful, and just very caring. -- and me too on the trail. Another one lost to developers... Yes, I remember you talking about the Edward and the stakes. and yes, the thought has crossed my mind! I miss my woods! And yes on the photo mess. Oh well, Lola got to play with the vacuum and dust bins things again. silly cat! Good luck with your taxes. it is a relief to know mine are 95% done, just have to file them.
AUNTIE ELLA!!!!! You are welcomes! I so lobs my job. See you tomorrow. ~~ Elsa, KBP

Wow on the crash...I'm glad the pictures and kitty paws were all OK!

There is no logic in hiring at all anymore...just like there is no reward for being loyal. It's a changing market...I don't understand it, either, and that is why I will always be self-employed from here on out....

It sounds like you've had a productive day...have a great evening, Michelle!

Oh, I love the sweet picture of Mannie! :-D. It's awesome that he is so well remembered and loved. I'm glad all the fur-babies are ok after the glass mess!

Yay, you got your taxes done...I will as soon as I get my T4! Then file if I get a return, and wait until the last day if I owe . It's nice of Lola to "help" ;-) . Chyna loves paper. She doesn't shred it...she sits on it. No matter where it is  . Oh well, it's cute. I hope all the kittehs and you are having a nice evening :-D

Oh, Mannie, we miss you too. I'm glad Nicholas remembers so much about his buddy. :-D :-D I'll give you a nanner if you come do our taxes, Michelle.  And, Lola, I'll give you a nanner if you stay out of my papers, although I'd love to have you visit. Maybe not, I'll come to WA.
Liz

Hi everyone!

HI Amy - LOL, the crash was fun. not. But they were ok, just a little too rambunctious. I so agree on the changing market on rewards for being loyal. so true, isn't it? time sure have changed. I so understand why you will be self-employed. Sure makes sense to me. THX on today, it was a good one.

HI Rachel - THX, that is one of my fav pics of Mannie - I LOVED the markings on his tail and underbelly. Beautiful kitty... Nicholas thought to too, in more ways than one. LOL, and hear you on the taxes... same logic here. Always the last day if I owed. TYoo funny on Chyna and paper. That was my BJ - she too would sit on it. Lola is the first shredder I have had. ;-)

Hi Deborah - AH me too - such a great pair they were. It's wodnerful that Nicholas can remember so much from those days. He was only 2 and a few months when Mannie passed on.

Hi Liz - me too on Nicholas. I always wondered how much he would remember. WOOT!!! A nanner for your taxes?????    too funny on Lola - I'd give her nanners too if it kept her out of those papers. sheshhh.... I cannot leave a file cabinet open : she gets in them and starts pulling out paper after paper, then rips them to pieces. crazy cat.
