Zener did not like the idea (as suggested by his aunties) that he surf blue last night. Blech! He also spit out his pill pockets with his meds this morning (ondansetron twice, zantac once). We may try those again. He ate ok, not with much enthusiasm though. He is now napping on the bed and Tillie is helping with condo construction this morning.

OT: All went well at the wheelchair rugby tournament and Anne is done with her work. She will be home around noon. The last 3 matches will be played today.

Thinking of Lyresa and DH, Michelle and Tony, and Roni and Brad. We share their grief. Sending healing energy to Ann's DM, Mannie, Checkers, and others. Happy Sunday LL!

oh wow on the pill pockets... Z-Man, take your meds! I love it when they spit that stuff out. Mannie is a master at cheeking them and when the back is turned... pa-tooey! I hope that the next attempt goes well. Right Zener?

Good morning, Liz. I hope that the second try will be successful. I think pilling a cat is one of the hardest things in the world to do. Why can't they understand that the pills are good for them? :lol:

I hope Zener keeps sliding down today. I hate it when they spit pills back out. I had a cat who could hold the pill in her mouth for a long time and then spit it out. I would watch her for quite a while and think she swallowed it, but then find it on the floor later.

Today is looking a whole lot like yesterday. Keep on sliding, Zener! Appy is rather so-so, soooo it will probably be some cypro tonight. He usually is very good about taking his pills in the pill pocket. We tell him "Swallow, don't chew" and then he's fine. When he starts chewing, then it's trouble. :roll: I'm off for a bike ride. Supposed to snow on Tue night and Wed. Paws crossed. :-D

Oh Zener! If you spit out your pills, they can't help you feel better. So, in the future, it would be appreciated if you would just be a good boy and swallow the pills! Thank you! You and Shasta must have talked last night and decided to start in the pinks and slowly slide to the blues. From now on, could you leave the pinks out of your conversations and go with yellows and lower. Again, thanks. :razz:

Hi Liz, hope Zener's appy improves later, paws crossed for him. That's a very nice slide. Better get that bike ride in before Zener gets ideas of keeping you busy. Glad everything went well for Anne, and she'll be home soon.

Unless it is reallllly awful tasting I've given up on pilling. I got a pill crusher and add them to Tess's food. She never notices.

Thanks to all for the welcome home wishes. The weekend went well for the wheelchair rugby. It sure is hard to travel when appy is not happy! Liz did a great job with Zener and despite his appy not being happy, he did rounds in the backyard (successfull poo patrol :razz: ), watched birds, gave everything a thorough sniff and asked for dinner right on time, just not eating much. Pills went down fine tonight.

We sure wish we could crush stuff up and put it in his food, but he will not eat it if something else is in it. He is so picky about food and only eats two kinds. So we don't want to mess that up. Liz made an appointment with the vet nurse tomorrow for anal gland expression, he is acting like that is bothering him, so maybe appy will be happier after that.

His breath has been pretty stinky lately, so it may be time for a dental which we DREAD considering what happened a year ago, when we had to syringe feed him for a week and thought that was it. Our regular vet is on vacation this week, so we will wait until she is back and make an appointment with her to check his teeth and see what our options are. We've been using biotene toothpaste for several months and that has helped but it may be time. nailbite_smile
