Hi Folks:

Gosh what a long long day of snow removal!

Scooter is doing well but his numbers still suck. I don't understand what a high dose is but he must be up there at 5.5U. So discouraging. I don't think he really cares as long as he gets his soft food!

Going to cuddle with him and relax a little.

Come on down Scooter, we really want to see some more blues and maybe even green on you. It's a much better looking colour on you. Looks like you might have to start threatening him with another dose increase soon Linda.

A high dose usually means there is something else contributing to the numbers. You've had a dental done and that can be one cause. If he doesn't start to show some movement soon, you may want to test him for a high dose condition. We usually start thinking about that when they get to 6U. I presume he had bloodwork done before his dental?

You must be exhausted after a day of snow removal. It sounds much less fun than ice caving!

Hi Wendy!

Yes he had blood work done and there was nothing unusual except his bg was of course in the 300's. Is there something I should look for? I have a print out and an excellent Vet who will get me anything I need.

I am going to start tomorrow morning with no kibble in the house at all. Everyone is going on wet food in the morning. I am wondering if Mr. Scooter is getting some in at night. cat(2)_steam he does not get at it during the day. I think since his teeth feel better he might be at it. If I look at his chart before the dental his numbers were better. Of course I just noticed that tonight. :-x

So the next few days with all the kids on wet food timed feeding will be very interesting.

As always thank you so much for you help and your concern about Scooter and me!
