Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday. Congratulations to Honey and Denise...OTJ!!! Also continuing to send our deepest condolences to Roni and Brad, Michelle and Tony, and Lyresa and DH.

Yesterday was a day to put behind us but Gracie came down into blue and surfed there all night. cat_pet_icon She has been a wild baby this morning after we had coffee, epaper, and breffis in bed. It's nice here and so the order of the day is the catio door open and she took full advantage of it by running in and out as fast as her little legs would carry her. Then a full stop...tail straight up and puffed out and then back out she ran. Then we had a fun game of string on a stick which was a gift last year from Liz and Anne. The video is below and hope you enjoy it....if you look closely, you can see her little face behind the door...not just her sweet little paws. She's eating better today. Dale mentioned on our condo last night that the pill form of clavamox seems to make Chip's BG go up. Gracie is also on the pills, not the liquid so there should be no sugar in it. We'll see how she does with the dose increase back to the 1.4u which just recently had her in the 40s. All that yellow might just have been her settling down from feeling bad from the metronidazole.

It's warm here today and so I'm headed out to do the monthly pool tile scrubbing so it doesn't get so bad that it has to be chiseled off  Hope you all have a lovely day.

   very cute video! And you are quite skilled to manage the stick and the camera at the same time. :-D paws crossed for the extra juice to do its thing.

Liz...it was TOUGH! You can see it is not the highest quality video...taken with my phone no less.

Re: 2/17 Gracie AMPS 167 +2 145 +5 153 video

And I see some Tobes nearby as well. He must know better than to go after the brown girls string? :-D

As for the Clavamox pills it must be coincidence. But Chip has seen pink nearly every day on Clavamox. To be fair the last two times the pink problems preceded the Clavamox and there are other variables. He has another week of it to go, so I'll finish that. Maybe it has some effect on the way they feel?

Gracie sure was going "all the way" green on the MND even if there was the rather determined vomiting. @-)

Much better BGS this morning. Sometime they go up because they can, then down for the same reason.

T seems like there is unseasonable warm weather all over, Except at Ella and Edward's, of course,

That's such a cute video. I hope the dose increase helps bring Gracie's numbers down while she's on the ABs.

Awesome video Marje! She is so darn cute!!! Thanks for sharing and hope you have a nice evening and the dosecrease dose as you want.

Those white toes off to the side could be Gus or Tobes?

Looks like I might see a flash of pale ginger (and white) tail at the end?

I got Chip the mouse on a string with the realistic rodent chirping.

Actual electronic sample of a real mouselet.

He can only play with it behind closed doors, when that thing squeaks it creates a stampede, practically knocks us both down.

I can see that Gracie is a skilled player. Great video! Hope the Clav. will be done with soon so the Princess can get back to her usual good numbers.

Have a lovely evening.

Awww, sweet thing. Love that little girl. We need a heart emoticon on here.

Hi Marje....it never occurred to me that the Clav liquid that Checks is on, might be sweet. I did see green today tho..

Thanks all for visiting.

Well.....that was a bizarre ending to a very flat, blue cycle. Could be it's time to change the pen....it's over 42 days. There isn't much left in it and even though it should be good to the last drop, IMHO, as there is less insulin in the pen, it is more subject to temperature and volume changes and perhaps it goes a little wonky.

Dale...she only had two doses of MND so it didn't have time to change her numbers. And yes, those are Gussie's old man paws     Tobey was busy chasing some little fuzzy thing.

She is on the pills....not the syrup, Barb, so I think the syrup can make a difference because it often has sugar in it.

Good luck with the dose. Gabby is so lucky to have play time with her mumbean. There is too much work in Tortieland for playtime...my cats play, chase around (or smack at) with each other most of the time.

That was a weird cycle for Gracie. Of course no weirder than Chip's lack of a Levemir curve on his much larger dose.

I wonder if it is the pens, the kitties, or us that goes wonky? Curious that we suspect the pen so often.

I changed my last pen at 42 days, even took the cart out of the pen for inspection. The FlexPen stopper system doesn't appear as robust as Lantus Solostar. It wasn't designed to "pull" forward with a vacuum from the front surface of the rubber stopper, instead the plastic corkscrew pushes from the back to eject the dose when used as a pen. Pushing expands the stopper in the glass (and the pressure keeps it expanded) while pulling from the front surface stretches/contracts the stopper. My stopper wasn't completely airtight when I injected air back into the old pen.

I wonder if the Levemir is drying out in the cold harsh fridge, or why the tail end might get wonky?

But then again I can never prove beyond a doubt any Levemir is actually toasty. :?

Hi Marje. The video is great. Your phone has a pretty good camera. It's always nice to see them playing. PurrFace can not pass up a string either. I hope Gracie's increase gets her back on track.

Have a great evening.

That video is great! Buster gives two bats at a string and then just looks at me with that cat look. He's much more interested in chasing bugs and lizards. Whatever makes them happy! I'm perfectly happy to let Ma Nature entertain our boy - she's got more energy than me anyway. Good luck with the new pen - hope it does the trick!

Hi Marje,

I saw Gracie's lab analysis and I remarked the high cholesterol and triglyceride, could be because of the high protein food? What is your vet saying?

Very cute Gracie!!!

Thank you for your replay,
Mihaela

Mihaela

Thank you for your post. Her triglycerides were up this time because she had a special test which required us to feed her a very heavy meal two hours before the test. Her cholesterol, while high, is not that bad and is typical for her and always has been. Her diet is not that high in protein ....it's pretty evenly matched with fat and then very low carb.

Thanks again for your thoughts! :-D
