Yesterday's Rainbow Condo

We are very sad today, thinking of Melissa and her family as they mourn Turnip's passing.

Cinco is back to the lagoon, which seems to be his favorite place lately. :D You would think having that sore spot and wearing the cone would drive his BGs up, but it isn't (anti jinx). He is kind of grumpy, though. Can't say that I blame him! I don't think he can reach the spot with the collar on, as it looks better today. I still have a little of the ointment, so I put some more on it, and I'll use the spray tonight. With luck he might be out of the collar in a week.

Sasha had blood on her stool this morning. I was hoping the fact that it was ON and not IN meant an external issue, but I checked her over and everything looks fine (she didn't appreciate the intimate exam one bit ). UCDVMTH is on emergencies only today, so I called her regular vet and they want me to bring her in this afternoon. Please send Vines that it's something minor and not a sign that the cancer is back. I'll be :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: until I know. You wouldn't know by her appy that anything is wrong, but she does seem just a little subdued today. It might be my imagination - Amy and I are kindred spirits in this area.

All other kitties ate this morning, even Minka, although with her usual stall until the tummy meds kicked in. I haven't eaten breakfast yet, so I guess I'd better do that now. They couldn't get us in until 3:30, so DH will have to go in to Sac for bowling without me and I'll follow after I take Sasha home. Too bad I can't just take her to the bowling alley with me, but I don't think that would work out well.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Chris' DM and Elise's DM. Special prayers to Melissa, Brian, Mason, Tarragon and Charlie.

(((Tricia)), so sorry to hear the news about Sasha. :bighug::bighug: Massive truckloads of vines are on their way. Does she ever get anal sac issues? All paws crossed here it's something easy to treat.

Cinco is looking wonderful again, in spite of the cone of shame. I hope he heals quickly.

Vines, vines, and more vines. Sometimes they can rupture little blood vessels if they strain too much...we've seen it with Trix years ago. Hopefully that is all it is and nothing more. And let's pray we both have unfortunately wild imaginations!!

Yes, I don't think Sasha would like the bowling alley :nailbiting:!

Too bad we can't make any money being professional helicopter worriers, right ?

We'll be watching for updates!

Sending prayers for Sasha. I hope it is something simple to take care of. It's good to hear Cinco's spot is looking better. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending more vines from the great white mid-west!! I know you're thinking the worst, but we're all hoping it something simple and easy to fix!

Cinco's looking great! Now that these 2 have "hooked up" again, I wonder what they're planning next? You know how they are!...LOL

Tons of prayers for our little Sasha. She's such a trooper. I hope it was just a tiny bit of blood from straining and all is normal.

Oodles of vines and prayers that whatever it is with Sasha is minor. Any food changes? It could be as simple as that. Actually it happened to Tiffany after being on the same food for 4 years after I brought them home and a change of food was all that was needed.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, everyone. I don't think she was straining to go - her stools have been pretty loose for some time. She has had some new foods - Royal Canin Baby Cat last night and PowerPate Seafood (which everyone liked) this morning. Her appy is good.

Minka's appy, btw, is stellar. I just took her a third snack and she ate every speck! She's acting like she's had Mirtz, but the last dose was two days ago. I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.

Cinco is still surfing nicely. I'm glad DH will be here when I leave, just in case - I can't set up Otto because he can't get at it with the collar on. It's +7 now, so hopefully he's done dropping (anti-jinx).

Off to shower and get ready for the drive in to Sac.

Is the protein source one he's been getting? Even if it is a new food can do this. I'm thinking positively that it's the food. Vines.

Hi Tricia, We're sending a truckload of vines for Sasha (or maybe we should say a sledload of vines) and prayers that it's nothing to worry about. Good for Minka's good appetite. And we hope that Cinco will be ok with his cone for just a few more days.

I don't think Sasha would enjoy the bowling alley!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Sending vines for Sasha. I hope that the vetty vist goes well, you must be on your way by now. More eating vines for everyone, just in case. Vines for sweet Cinco too, for fast healing of that sore. Have you tried one of the inflatable collars? They have them at Petco and Petsmart too, at least online.

((((Tricia)))) Hugs and prayers for you, and Sasha. I hope that it is something super minor and seeing the vetty can put your mind at ease. Many vines for Sasha! I'm glad that appys are good. I hope Cinco will surf along nicely for DH today too. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending prayers for Sasha. I pray that whatever is causing the blood clears up. It is good that her appetite is good.

I hope it was just the intimate exam that caused her to be subdued, sending vines for the blood to be no biggie :nailbiting:

Vines, Tricia. And then some more and more and more. So hoping Sasha's just got a slight irritation and all's well soon. Nonetheless, even more vines.

Marilyn and Polly

Thank you, everyone for all the vines and good wishes. DH and I literally passed each other as I drove home and he to bowling. He did the t/f/s before he left, so I fed everyone else and refilled Cinco's bowl. DH said he was really hungry - ate a whole can of Max Cat Venison! Well, that explains the +1 number I got! I don't think he's gonna dive, but just in case I gerry-rigged Otto so that he can get to the food and loaded it up. We usually get home around +5.

The vet took the sample I brought to be analyzed. She didn't see anything when she examined Sasha, and since we have her Oncology checkup scheduled a week from tomorrow, she said it was up to me if I wanted them to go ahead and do bloodwork. I decided a week is too long for me to be worrying about this, so I gave the go ahead. She said to give more Forti Flora for the loose stool and maybe try sticking to foods she's used to for a while. She gave me some cream for the irritation on Sasha's neck and a soft knit tube to try instead of the turtlenecks that aren't solving the access problem . She thought Sasha's breathing was a little noisy, and noticed her nose was wet but I told her they'll be doing a chest x-ray next week and she didn't hear anything concerning when she listened to her chest, so she said to just watch that. She's leaning toward the thought that her intestines were already irritated from the chemo, and giving her new foods may have made it worse. They'll call tomorrow with bloodwork and fecal test results. I feel better, getting it checked out. She inhaled the snack I gave her when we got home. So did Minka and Harvey.

@tiffmaxee, I haven't introduced a new protein in a long time - she's had just about everything over the years.

@rhiannon and shadow , I hope the lb meows are just kitty announcing a new deposit and nothing to be worried about.

@lovey11, it's wonderful to hear from you Catherine! I've wondered where you were. I hope Lovely is doing well.

@Ann & Tess , I have one of those inflatable collars, and it's too big and awkward for a cat. Cinco does pretty well with the small plastic one - it just requires me to be creative about his dishes, and it makes it tough to reach his ears to test.

Well, I'd better eat the salad they had waiting for me when I got here. Sorry you had to wait so long for an update. Please keep the vines and prayers coming.

Tons of prayers and vines are continuing. I think and hope for Sasha it was the food. I'm glad they all ate well. I hope Cinco surfed safely.

Thanks, Elise.

We're home and everyone is doing okay. Cinco seems to have slid slowly down the blue room, but hasn't made it to the lagoon. Yet. He managed to eat almost all the food in Otto, so that gives me a little bit more peace of mind if I have to leave him while he's still in the collar. It was all 8%, so I'm not surprised he didn't go lower.

Sasha and Minka both ate their late dinners, as of course, did Harvey, and all meds have been successfully administered. We just have to do Minka's fluids, but DH is on the phone with Kathy troubleshooting her computer, so we will wait for him.

Hope everyone made it safely through Monday, whether it was a holiday for you or not. Thinking of our members in the frozen North!
