She's still on her not dropping as low as fast since her reduction (which granted was only yesterday morning). I'm okay with it since I came in to teach at 830. I got a +2, forgot to note it, but it was over 100 still. I'll check it when I go home after class.

(Am I doing this from class while they're working on an art project. Maaayyyybbbbeee.... :p:joyful: )

Honestly - there are a bunch of the students who mentioned having pets after my co prof and I both talked about our pets - one student has a pet pig! I don't think they would be surprised if they saw me writing about my cat somewhere. :rolleyes:

The kids were working on a book art project - they're given a paperback book with an interesting title/cover art, and with that and the synopsis on the back, they have to create something out of the book - they can paint it, cut it up, glue things. While I would normally not go for destroying books, it's such a fun project because it makes them start to think creatively on the fly - they only have an hour and 15 minutes from the time they get the book until they have to be done (less if they show up late, which for an 830 class is more than there should be), and then on Tuesday they'll have to present their concept to the class.

I'm really excited for the M&M lighting project - it's a good way to show that lighting designers and scenic/costume designers need to work together, because different colored gels can change the way a color looks, as well as understanding how colors can mix for cool effects. So, the students are given small bags of m&ms, and then they have to sort them under colored lights. Then we see how well they did. And then we eat candy. :joyful::joyful:

I'm glad I took advantage of updating then, because otherwise it would be now (almost 5 pm) because the day go so busy!

Sounds like some fun and interesting projects. Your students must love your classes.

I want to go back to school!
Actually…when I retire from my job….my plan is to go back and take more classes. I’ve always missed being in a classroom (nerd). I want to take more art history classes like I took in college. (And now that I’ve seen in person many of the masters’ works it will mean so much more than it did even back then).
The university I attended has a program where as an older graduate/student you can audit classes pretty reasonably and you don’t have to take the tests. But I probably would want to test, to see what I learned and if I could still do it just to challenge myself (double nerd).
If I can get Ivy under control I would register. Just can’t be away from her now to do it.

I've decided she likes to go low on the nights I don't take a shower immediately after work, and instead plan to take one right after dinner (so after her +2 check. :rolleyes::facepalm::joyful: )

It's true. And like, who knows why their bodies do what they do, but this girl hasn't had a reduction before this week that was earned since August. Gotta make a statement I guess.
(I know the shower doesn't actually have anything to do with it, correlation and causation and all that, my brain is just silly sometimes :joyful:)
 
So, she had 20% at +2.5, +3, +3.5. +4, and now +5. I wanted to see if she could hold or raise between +4 and +5, and she was just a little lower at +5, so more 20%. She's had almost a full 3 oz can of 20% and barely hit 60 after 3.5 hours. This morning she had maybe a tablespoon of 3%, and she went from 79 to 94.
She's still eating eagerly, but dang. Girl is on a mission tonight.
I was actually worried about her current insulin pen because I accidentally left it out for an hour the other morning. Less worried now.
 
Wow, Alicia. That was quite a cycle last night. Kit cat really worked for that reduction. Thank goodness you were home!! Good kitty. :cat:

Thanks! The book project is something my colleague brought to the class, the lighting activity is all mine (in that I saw it somewhere else and then wanted to use it :joyful:)
We haven't always been the ones teaching this class, but it's definitely more popular than with either of the other two folks who previously taught it - so boring, so much lecture, way less hands on projects that were fun.
