Jades insulin has been hitting pretty fast since her appetite has decreased and I decided to try .5 for a week. I’ve had to give her some MC gravy a few times so I could leave the house for a few hours to keep me sane and her safe. Today was an example of that. She went from 324 to 206 (+2) and I had to leave for the afternoon. She hasn’t eaten a full portion of her food but was hungry again just after her +2. That was giving her a .5 dose. The same thing happened last night (.75 tho)
Spoke to the vet yesterday and will keep an eye on Jades appetite. She’s definitely more perky than she was on Sunday.
I’m certainly open to any advice/ input on her dosing!

My advice would be to keep her at a consistent dose for several days and not to switch back and forth between .75 and .5. Then you can really see what she will do at .5 units. I do wonder what's going on with her appetite? That's worrisome.

I agree. I wasn’t planning on dropping back down to .5 as .75 seemed to be doing her just fine but when her appetite started decreasing, the insulin hit differently. It seems to have started right after we had a very unpleasant pilling incident. Her trust in me with food/ meds seems to have been affected. We are now doing the transdermal meds for her thyroid. But, for the week or so that we went from the compounded chews to the pills ( before the transdermal) seems to have really thrown her off. That’s the only thing I can think of.

:bighug: I always appreciate the advice and information. Thank you! I feel so guilty when I feel like I’ve lost Jades trust. I know all of us have felt that guilt at some point. :(
