Was able to do a curve yesterday while at home. Sneakers bore it well. I thought I got a nice number set.

I thought the spike, at first, was caused by a little butter- but it had less than 1g carb and she didn't have much. This morning she spiked again and now I think it is the food- because she ate a lot of it! Didn't do my usual 1/2 n 1/2 of chicken and canned just gave her two oz of canned instead and there was a spike.

I am thinking about upping her dose to 2.25- does that sound good? She has finally stabilized into yellows lows and (usually) pink highs so I thought it would be time to bump it up a notch. And no more Friskies whitefish and tuna :!: .

Mom, you gotta cool it with the people food. Cats don't need butter in their diets. I just hope it didn't come on an English muffin? Seriously, she should be on low carb and nothing else. You just can't know what will mess with her numbers. When you are counting on those numbers to base your dose on, they have to be accurate.

Yes, I think your idea if an increase of .25 units is good. I would do it when you can be sure of getting at least a nadir number for that cycle.

Shakespeare misses the potato chips and peas the most!
but I am still determined for remission!!

Agree on the increase and good luck!

Yes... once she left the bottom of the totem pet pole and started hanging out with me she became spoiled!

Plus- before she was diagnosed it wasn't just a whine "I want" it was a "jump on your lap and steal the meat from your plate" time. She ate 1/4 of my hamburger once and nearly clawed me for it :!: .

She got used to certain things and I have to remember she can't have those anymore. I'm doing good on the milk, the little cheese is her treat (and i check the carb count before giving it to her), and totally forgot about the butter being a no-no  .

I at least haven't handed over my cereal bowl of left over milk for her to lick clean (I use HONEY as a sweetener rather than sugar--- oh, the SPIKE on that one!)

Grayson hasn't really been a people-food eater, but he's sure made me think twice about leaving my plate unattended on the diningroom table! And he has made me feel even more guilty for eating pasta or rice in front of him  . Maybe I'm just becoming more aware of what I'm eating!

1/4 hamburger - WOW! She's a mooch!!!
