Happy Valentine's Day!! I'm glad Simon is not wearing red in honor of today although he is trying hard to wear a little pink. I started him on the anti-histimine today to help with his ear scratching. Hopefully, it is going to help. He is doing well and even tried to get Cleo involved in a game of attack the bean's foot on the bed last night.

Today is actually going to be fun at work. We are having an Elvis impersonator entertain our group today. He really sings almost like Elvis and he brings scarves to put around all our ladies' necks. Last year, one of our participants (with Alzheimer's Disease) really thought he was Elvis and cried throughout the performance because she was so excited. Things like that make me forget about my stress level at work and remind me why I decided to go into geriatrics in the first place.

Have a beautiful, loving, fun-filled day!

Awww....well bless her heart. You know that was such a good memory for her even if she thought it was really Elvis. I am just sitting here considering how much it meant in her lifetime, to have had somebody...a generational icon like Elvis in her life. To consider at her age she would still cry at the sound of his voice or songs....really...WOW.

I know I've been horribly torn myself about Whitney Houston. I tend to not have a soft spot of drug addicts etc., but there were so many beautiful love songs that only she could sing into your soul. I don't own her records or anything...but a radio station played a collection of her songs yesterday and I had to pull over and stop I started crying so hard.

Simon has no intention of honoring Valentine's Day with any of those pinky type colors, do you Simon? This is just the starting place for a slide to blue, right Simon? Yes, OK.

Nice story, thanks for sharing. I hope this year's Valentine's treat is as meaningful to your residents.

Happy Valentine's Day Georgia & Simon! Nice sunny yellow start for the day. Hope he shows you some blues today.

What a wonderful story! That meant the whole world to that woman and took her back to a time that was very special to her. Sounds like you will have a great day at work today. You don't get to say that much huh? Hugs to you Georgia and bless you for what you do.

Re: 2/14 Simon AMPS 288

Hi guys and happy valentines day! Ok simon .. let's not move up any higher today ok? Coming down would be a nice little gift for your beanz .. what a sweet story, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!

Simon decided to give me a green valentine. The only problem is that I am going out to dinner with another couple and I'm a little nervous leaving him now. I think he will be fine but I'll leave out some extra food in his automatic feeder. Maybe the anti-histimine is making him feel better.

Elvis was really good today and everyone had a great time. There was another touching moment this time. A woman who is 99 years old and has Alzheimer's Disease at our center rarely participates in anything because she her disease has progressed. The only thing she enjoys doing is looking at the garden. Today, Elvis came over to her while he was singing "Love me Tender" and all of a sudden she started singing along with him and reached out to hold his hand. It is bringing tears to my eyes again just thinking about it! Fabulous day!!

Glad to see SImon in such a lovely color. Hope the anti-histamine helps him.

Also hope Cleo is doing well.

The Elvis impersonator sounds fun....I'm glad it was such a great experience!! What a sweet story about the 99 year old lady...wow!!!

Have fun tonight. Happy Valentine's Day!!
