Shadow got 1.25 I am afraid yesterday Am was a Fur Shot. I am a bad bean :cry: not positive, but I almost did one this A.M I will be reading all about giving shots today again! I am not a huge fan of the tent method. I like to part the hair to see the needle go in to be 100% sure. But my problem is sometimes it goes thru the other side. As I think happened yesterday. Ugh

Shadow is purring, and playful this A.M

It's always difficult in the beginning to get into a routine, and learn how things are done, however it'll get easier with time. Hang in there!

We haven't had a chance to stop by and welcome you. No worries on the fur shot. It happens and they bounce back. We have a long hair kitty and I just pull up on the fur to give the shot. You pull up on the fur and then you can see the skin. There was a picture of it years ago but I can't find it. Have a great day!

I agree...we've all done fur shots. You are not a bad bean - these things just happen, and they do bounce back!

I do a modified hybrid sort of thing with Trix. She has very short fur, but I part it anyway, and then I do the tent right where I part her fur. This is a little unconventional, but after the needle is in, before I push the plunger, I gently touch the other side of the tent to make sure the needle isn't poking out the other side. I picked up this habit after my last fur shot. It's quick and smooth and she doesn't realize I'm doing it.

Snow...a blessing??? Uh oh....I'm not gonna say another word now :lol: (I am not a fan...we have had WAY too much this year!).

I had some trouble with fur shots with Lovey. I got myself so nervous sometimes. It takes time to get more comfortable with the whole process.

oh if I had a dollar for each of my fur shots. . . :cool:

I have had many and I too have shot right through the tent. I have also had back to back (2 cycles in a row) fur-shots. . ohmygod_smile

Don't worry - Shadow will get back on track.

Please make sure you always note a possible fur shot on your ss. in the remarks.
It's important information that ultimately affects dosing decisions
