Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Maggie's acting very strange this morning! She did two vomits last night, which is unusual as she rarely vomits. She woke me up, and I tested her and she was 140. I fed and heard one of the two vomits. I got up about 1 am and she's refusing to eat her normal lc Supreme Sophisticat Chopped Grill, even sprinkled with chicken dust. And she sticks her nose up at the Merrick Chickenm which is very good for her and lc. Finally I opened a can of Merrick Surf n Turf, and she really liked it. I think this will boost her bg though, as it has some of the same ingredients as Cowboy Cookout - veggies - don't know why Merrick would add it! It is on J & Binky's list though! No lb today but she is still playful, and all the other P's ok. She's been pacing bacck and forth and now returned to finish Surf n turf. I think the pacing is spotting Mr. Raccoon! Do any of you feed the Surf n turf to your kitties?

Good morning guys .. nice amps maggie .. sorry to hear about the upset tummy .. I hope it passes soon ... I haven't ever fed the surf n turf to either of my girls ... have a great day guys!

Nice start for Maggie. I cannot help you on the food choice. Putty is strictly a Wellness boy although rarely does he turn his nose up on any food I sometimes have to sprinkle a little chicken dust on top for him to eat it.

Sorry about Maggie's upset tummy.

No surf and turf here. Hope it doesn't spike her numbers much - good that she is eating. Give her a valentines day hug.

my kitties aren't fans of Merrick's so no help with the surf n' turf. Hope all the pukus is done with and Maggie's tummy is okay.

You should look into them Maggie, I can fit a heating pad in between my neck nicely too. And body pillows all around so I'm not tensing my muscles to stay positioned nicely in bed. Arthritis is more bone and cartilidge pain right? My neurologist does botox but it just sounds so scary. If it ever became more frequent I'd be camping outside her office.

This is what I use. Too bad they don't just make a heated version of this. It would be heaven.

I wonder if this would help you though. My neck pain isn't really in my neck - its in a muscle at the base of my skull that triggers the nerve.

Morning Ann & Maggie. I am wondering if she has a hairball brewing....what do you think? Maybe that's it....but watch for other signs too. I am sorry that she is not feeling well.

It's possible she may have a hairball brewing, as the rest of her behavior is fine. She does some grooming now and then, not as much as my boy kitty used to groom! I just did a +2 and she's 94, so I fed some more Merrick Surf n Turf, and she cleaned the plate clean. We'll see later if it raises her bg!

Baby is primarily on a Raw Diet, but I do supplement wet food too & I have fed Surf n Turf, once she refused it & here recently she ate it.. go figure :lol:
I don't really take too much stock in the food charts, the newest one is 6 years old...

Hope Maggie feels better soon, and you find something that will bring you some comfort as well! At least she is giving you some pretty green numbers this morning!

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes for Maggie. Well, I had to go out for a short while, and when I returned, I found another vomit on her blanket. I opened up a can of Merrick before grain tuna, and she ate about a tablespoon. I'm wondering if something was changed with the Supreme Sophisticat, although it's the same can. Not sure what's up with her, but her numbers are good. She's decided to take a nap on my shoes that I just removed! I wonder if she ate a bug and it upset her tummy! I'll keep watching her as I'll be home the rest of the day.

Oh bummer, after all those good numbers. Maggie still won't eat much today. I tried some Merrick tuna, and at first she ate a little but just now she wasn't interested. I think they changed some ingredients in the Sophisticat Supreme chopped grill. Two calls to PetsMart, and I learned they changed something about a month ago, and I was stocked up with some of the old brand most likely. but this last case I noticed "New Taste" on the can. So....I'll have to find another lc food for Maggie. I hope she isn't sick or anything and it's just the food.

Oh no, I hope it's just the cans Ann....dont feed them no more.
keep trying a little bit at a time, hoping she picks up her appy soon!

Oh, I hope it's just the Petsmart food that is turning her off.....
Come on Maggie...eat!! I hope she is okay.....glad you got to the bottom of that though Ann...

Thanks Ronnie. I do have an old can of Sophisticat Supreme Mixed Grill, and it doesn't have the "New Taste" label, so I have it as a back-up, and it tells me they did change some ingredients. I remember this also happened with Fancy Feast. I also have some Wellness and other flavors of Merrick. She will eat Gerber baby food stage 2 chicken food, of course. I sometimes give it as a treat for the ear prick.

Thanks Pat and Roni & Moonie. Well, I found a can of SS Mixed Grill (no new taste label) and tried it, and she ate some, so it most definitely is the new label. I'm taking the case back to Petsmart for a refund and will look to see if they have any sophisticat that don't have the new label taste; if not, maybe back to Fancy Feast. I hope she doesn't do a vomit!

Yes, tell Moonie Maggie would love to be picked up for the party. She will go anyway, even with tummy problems,
 
Thanks Karrie; I agree as they can't fool cats when they change the ingredients.

Hi Roni - I found my receipt. I have a habit of saving receipts (have whole drawer full) and sometimes it's a good thing.
