Lola, Queen on the roost, and Co CEO of Paw Prints Pizza...
I hope everyone had a great week.
The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Will it ever?
NOPE!!

I am so glad it hasn't! I just can't imagine not being on the go.
It keeps us out of trouble! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that!
It was the same this past week. We just seem to pick up and go each day, no questions asked, not by me or the boys, or the people I interact with on a daily basis. I am grateful for all those that help us on a daily basis, including my local barista! It cracks me up when I walk in that door and my order is already in the works.
Life is very good!
Swimming continues to be an integral part of my life, and the boys. I am grateful for this time, as it has become such a bonding experience for all of us. Wednesday was family swim day, as my DD, aka Nicholas and William's mom had taken the day off.

The boys had dental check-ups first off in the morning, so I went with them to help out with the boys if I could. Check out their dental visit! This place is a really well done Pediatric Dentistry. Both boys had a good check-up, and liked their visit. It was William's fist visit. He did remarkably well, and Nicholas watched the whole time, making sure William was OK. That was so cute.
Anyways... that was Wednesday morning. We all went swimming after that. Swim time was a blast. We got there about 10:30, stayed til 1:30.

Neither of them, including mom, wanted to leave. It sure was fun. It is amazing that William lasted all that time, skipped a nap, late on lunch, and he really didn't care. Fatigue got to him near the end. Even Nicholas crashed on the way home. Had to laugh at Erin, even she was wiped.
We did everything, and then some. Mom and Nicholas did the huge tube slides that the pool has, Nicholas just loves those things. well anyways, hugely fun time in the pool. Nicholas really does love the pool time, and would stay till the cows come home if he could. I suspect that William will be the same.
Granted there are times when both of them come and tell me they are done. Nice that they know when the fuel cells are empty. Nicholas is still saying no to lessons, but I am continuing to try a different approach to getting him involved with swim classes. When we go they are wrapping up lesson time at the pool so we sit and watch some of what they do, and talk about what he sees. This seems to have cut the ice some. I don't think he is afraid of class, I just think he really likes things the way they are, and why change it.
Kids can be such creatures of habit: shake up the routine and they can be unhappy campers. So... we will keep plugging away at swim class, and hope fully get him enrolled by summer.
William continues to love going. He too is so excited when he realizes he is headed off to the pool. He does all kinds of things there, doesn't mind being under water, loves the slides and the water cannon and geysers. So we continue to go, alternating pools between the Lynnwood Aquatic Center, and the Snohomish Aquatic Center. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful Aquatic facilities here too. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Night were out swimming days this week.

Fun rules at the pool!
The boys and I continue to be very busy.
Our weather has dictated alot of what we do, and even with that we still have great times. We have come up with a great list of indoor places, and this week we used them when we needed too, when the weather was questionable, mainly in the mornings. We did get a weather break on Thursday afternoon
, so off to Juanita Beach for us. We actually got some sun.

The boys had such a great time on the beach, just playing in the sand. We feed the ducks too. One just has to spend time with the ducks! Friday was spent at the Imagine Childrens Museum.
It was a bit cooler that day, fog was everywhere in the morning, so indoors for a few. Nicholas has been asking to go back to this place so figured why not. Half the time they were topside in their outdoor play area anyways. Nicholas hooked up with a couple of kids while there so he played with them most of the time, which freed me up to help William with all he wanted to do. He did his first tube slide there, a very short one, but he didn't care. Mission accomplished in his book.
It was a good time for him, good time for them both. They have indeed been busy days. I love that fact the they enjoy being out as much, and staying busy and enjoying what they encounter where ever they are. The beach presented endless opportunities to build damns and rivers and toss rocks. The pool gave them time with their mom, with all that endless water fun. The museum let them learn and explore. It has been a great week.
Nicholas & William: Bring on the sand, and the water, and all that awesome Fun!
As busy as these boys are, and me included, we still try and find time for family, and just being at home, enjoying each others company.
I continue to enjoy the mornings here, before we head on out for the days adventure. Whether it be William's joy at building with blocks, or his playing with a discarded Starbucks coffee cup, or the two of them just enjoying blanket time while waiting for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to start. They are good fun times just at home. The Friday Night Burger Feast for Nicholas, after his swim session at the Snohomish pool, will be always on the highlight list. He looks forward to this every week, starts asking about it on Wednesday when he first sees me. He just LOVES those cheeseburgers with extra pickles!
Waiting for Mickey Mouse....
For my own personal time, I have been hiking the local trails here when I can. I hope in the near future to have a day to visit the mountains and get in at east one snow hike before winter's end. Paws crossed. LOL, wrote that last week, the week before and still haven't been able to make it. I had hoped to go Tuesday, but ... the weather was AWFUL... maybe this week! I've been Doing the local trails here at Meadowdale when I can. Tuesday I took at chance and went to Bellingham, to visit Whatcom Falls. The weather gurus said that it was the most favorable place for a no rain day, so off I went. I had wanted to see the Falls anyways, just to check on conditions, and see if it was ready for the boys or not. It has been a fave of Nicholas's in the past, and I'd really like to try and get them up there again this year. The place is very kid friendly, and has lots of "secluded" areas on the creek where they can pretend to be out in the wilderness, until we can actually make those trips this summer. And the verdict? Creek levels need to come down some before we will go. Most of those shoreline sots were still under water! Well duh I guess: we have had record rains....

Soon guys, soon!

How cool to be able to day that.

Elsa is dong well. She is eating better since I have been trying to get more food in here get some weight back on her, it is a slow process, but seems to be working, I think too that she really likes the individual attention. She is bored with this wet weather. Friday afternoon it was warm and decent enough once the fogs lifted, so she decided an outing was in order. Darn cat stayed out 4 hours!

She was one happy kitty! At least she no longer wanders in her old age, we can always see her,. so I don't worry too much. Well, just a little.
Bug is doing great! He is such a love bug, and so reminds me of Mannie. They do/did so many things the same. I have a fleece blanket that I use in the evening when I am unwinding on my sofa, watching TV, reading, etc. He just loves that thing, and as soon as I have it out, he is on top of it, making biscuit after biscuit. And the purrs! I love that time. He still contiues to use Mannie's beds, and recently has taken on the role of nanner protector. WHOA! Could be be developing another Nanner king? Time will tell, and stayed tuned.... Lola is, well... Lola. She is still my early morning lap warmer as I work on the computer. She never misses, curls up, purrs the morning away. I love that time when she is "normal"

and the rest of the day? still chasing her tail
, still walking my high off the ground railing,
, still riding my frig door
, still ripping up and left out paper
, still pounding any glass type surfaces
, still eating and ripping up my plants
. Lola is... well, Lola. She really is, in all seriousness, a joy to care for. She makes life fun. I wrote this last week, but it is just the way things are here: Elsa grounds it in reality. Bug adds that element of comfort and reassurance.
For this week: a for sure on that normalcy in MusketeerVille.

and for fun.... Lola decided one day she wnated to help be clean....
one cannot forget Mannie and Nicholas either....
Have a great Caturday everyone! Today has been catchup day here. Shopping and laundry done, and just being a little lazy. I hope to get out for a walk after I post this, for some fresh, though wet, air, and to exercise the legs some. It has been a day of drizzle and fog since the start of the day. I wonder if it will even break today... they promised sun. oh hahahahahahaha!
