Mikey is doing much better number wise. I bough him a new bed and he loves that too! He is super cute!!! I am a little concerned as he is not finishing the food we feed him, sometimes even if it's just 1/8 but then at 4am wants to eat 1/2 can. Today we left for a few hours and left 2 1/4 cans in the timer and food in his bowl and he didn't eat any of it.

his numbers are good - is he acting sick? i think if he's behaving normally i wouldn't worry too much about the eating, especially since he wants to eat at other times.

if he's off, though, seems sick, not playing, then the lack of eating at the usual times is perhaps more important. some cats get tired of particular foods and want a lot of variety. is mikey maybe just angling for some steak instead? ;-)

Wow...great numbers for Mikey! It could be, Jenn, that as his diabetes is coming under more control, he isn't as hungry.

Glad he loves his new bed...how cute!

You know it's crazy trying to figure him out because there have been SO many changes in the few months we have had him. Marc and I were talking about it tonight whether he is really happy here (it's very overwhelming for him to be an only cat and now 1 of 16) He does stay in his room but doesn't like to be "locked in". He loves to sit on the toilet to he can look out onto the other cats. He is getting better with them coming into his room, the clean up crew, they eat his leftovers, and HE LOVES HIS BED! I also have this little doll pillow that you can catch him "kneeding". It's quite funny watching a 13lb cat standing on top of this 10in long 1/2 inch thick pillow.

I'm not sure what the food issue is. At first I thought what you thought Marje, that with the lower numbers he's not so hungry. Then I also thought it was the flavor. I did switch him to the "special diet" Friskies because the carbs are 4 compared to supreme supper which had 7. I'm keeping my eye on him though. His poop is back to normal, well formed, since being off the AB. I don't think I realized how bad his tooth was. It was extracted so it had to be bothering him a lot.
