Happy sunday, Lantus landers!

you know, I had a variety of rodent pets when i was a kid, including one beautifully mannered and clever field mouse named Claude...
but there is something disconcerting about having to go eye to eye with a mouse you don't know over your first cup of coffee.
Especially when it's not spending its time entertaining the grey ghostie. An effort in that direction would make me more appreciative
of your presence, Mr. M...but would also put you in reach of the Torties...hmmm...

Speaking of the grey one...all p's present...he's a feisty lil bugger this morning, and currently trying to dislodge a furball.
I have the calming collar on Smudgekins on the premise that the boy aggressor may choose to ignore her based on the scent,
and for the last 20 hrs... no spats.
when he hopped up on the bed this am, she started to huff a little, but petting them simultaneously settled the situation.
Annie disappeared under the bed, but then a sneeze from me will send her there, so...

Whoohoo, 20 hrs without spats, that's pretty nice! Binks is looking nice at 139 this morning, but I'm with you about the mouse. I'm not sure if I'd like a strange mouse joining me for coffee either!

As for when you have two cats on the bed, petting cats in stereo is definitely the answer!

Did you ever find the mouse, or did he return to his/her hiding place; hope she's not pregnant. I caught a mouse as a kid and placed it in a shoebox under my bed. It seemed like it might be a nice pet. Next morning it was gone and some time later baby mice were spotted in our basement. Binkster is looking good today!

YAY for moderate tranquility in the household - no spats! YES! WOW on the mouse joining you for morning coffee. :shock:

Nice start there Binks, but I bet you can do better. Off to the land of the greens for you!

oh, yeah...the mouse is front and center each morning on its little extension cord bridge when we turn on the kitchen light...

less shocking than looking in the mirror though! :lol:

So after the Vet Behaviorist visits me next Friday...I'll send her your way Celi. Or ,maybe I'll just have you come down to speak w/my girls.....whatever you are doing seems to be working.

We've had 5 days of no spats....but there was a door separating the 2 kitties. And I'm not opening that door until the Vet shows me how to stop attack mode in Curry.

tena...the difference i see is that yours arent new to each other...haven't they been together without issues for quite awhile?
that's much more difficult to figure than these three..

here's something i've noticed though...I bring my sister's laundry home to do...and the girl's seem bothered by it...quite naturally, i think. they are thrown off balance when they see her, and i'm sure the scent does the same. I feel bad for her that of the pets, only Binks and the Burmese Mtn Drooler are excited to see her.

and yeah, karrie...agreed! i didnt know if Miss Fanny would ever get past the skittishness..but the last few evenings with no company, she has made appearances in the living room, so i'm hopeful. one big difference is that i read a lot...and my visitors generally have the TV on with full surround...i really think that's a contributor to her nervousness.

from now on when there's company...they can watch tv in the other rooms, or lower the volume :-D

house belongs to the kittens, ya know!

Hi, I remember when I had two kitties, it always upset my older kitty when I had company for several days. He would upchuck he would be so upset.
I love the Manx kitty pic you posted in my condo. Looks like he has a leash on - would love if I could walk Maggie, but she's afraid of strangers.

well, don't think i gave a furshot...no contraband...and the girls have been outside all morning...

so i guess i'll just chalk it up to him being a cat :lol:

Good evening, guys! Loved the pic today, Celi! What with all the pokes and prods lately, I think I've been getting a bit of that from poor Willie!

Glad to hear the kids are all getting along better! Now, Binks... time to take those numbers in the other direction! Fingers and paws crossed for some green tonight!

Good luck on kittys getting along in my experience sometimes its impossible to make cats like each other I know thats not what anyone wants to hear but I do believe sometimes when all efforts fail one just has to realize the 2 are not going to get along and yes I do speak from extensive experience but I do hope you can resolve your problem

i tend to agree on the getting along thing...

i figure as long as nobody gets injured...we can live with it.
can't wait for warm weather though! :lol:

i just look at him and say "i know...they weren't our FIRST choice, but they were free..."

and he runs for his piggy bank...


i actually weighed him tonight, which i haven't done in a very long time...and he's gained a little over a pound...due to me increasing the size of his mini-meals.
puts him a half pound over his ideal weight (according to what the vetty felt was ideal, and i agree)...so i'll be slimming the meals back from Midi- to Mini-

Breakfast with rodents - not to be confused with breakfast at Tiffany's. :lol:

I've posted before about 9-month-old Osky tormenting the adult cats. Samantha is a tough little girl, but she only weighs 6 pounds - she looks like a munchkin cat. I work at home all but two days a week, so I have an elaborate system of schlepping cats to various parts of the house with their own food and litter boxes during the day. When all three of them have free run of the house, I haul the laptop to wherever Osky is hanging out and squirt him when he gets aggressive. I also treat him when he manages to walk past another cat without attacking.

But it sounds like the torties need to learn to be more secure. "Binks started it" can't work forever. I have a no loud noises rule in my house, but that's easy since I live alone.

Glad Binks is sporting blue today.
