Lu went super high yesterday and had an iffy appetite, and was obviously not feeling great, drinking and urinating a lot, acting like an uncontrolled diabetic cat, in a nutshell.

Today, she's started the day feeling chipper, much recovered.

Hi Lara, Lu must have been bouncing from those greens and blues she saw on Saturday! Makes sense she drank and peed so much. Today looks much better for Lu already with her Amps.

Thank you, Staci, but she's on a * boing * again. I can tell even before I test her because she starts drinking lots of water.
I wish we had the types of insulin pumps that my friend with Type 1 has, where she could on-the-fly adjust her insulin, preventing big highs & lows. That would be just ducky!

I hope your new week is off to a great start! I haven't yet checked how everybody else is doing.

Well, as you know, Lu is so new to all of this. Her body has to adjust and heal. Let’s hope the insulin will start to get things back under control for her and less drinking and peeing!

Thanks Staci! Because some of this is familiar I keep forgetting that she's been getting insulin for less than two weeks, so I need to hold my horses.

@cecile & bella sorry it's taken me a while to reply. I'm so sorry about your dog and your kitty's grief. For sure animals do grieve, and need support. The homes we give them are their world.

I have other cats, and all of them are rescues. The cat who recently passed, Buddy Love, was a bonded pair with my cat Jack. Jack idolized Buddy as his weird uncle.
I keep giving Jack lots of extra extra love, but he seems okay, and like he appreciates the attention, so we're lucky.
