Good morning LL!! Hey hey, it's Caturday! dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

Miss Bailey is doing well, recovering from a likely fur shot last night - she kind of went crazy and tried to run away while I was shooting her last night. We are getting back on our regular schedule. No condo from us yesterday, no time! We are happy it is the weekend.

Blue-man is still responding really well to the prednisone. He has been able to get around and even go on some short walks! We are starting to see some side effects... he is hungry hungry, eats all his food right away, then eats Chloe's food, then begs for more all day. We are going to start feeding twice daily to help with that. He is also a little bit more aggressive with Chloe, and barks a lot more than he used to. The vetty wants us to try tapering down the prednisone and switching back to Rimadyl over the next couple of weeks... fingers crossed that works out OK. Overall though, he is feeling good and has his legs back, so we are just so happy and thankful.

I will hopefully bbl to get to some condos, I miss you guys! Hope everyone is doing well and kitties are behaving themselves.

I am glad that Blue is doing so well. These fur babies surely claim our hearts and we have to care for them when they need it. I continue to send loving healing vines your way for all your babies.

Thanks for stopping by our condo. I know you know the pharmacology of all of these meds and it helps to hear from you.

Bummer on the fur shot. Bailey, gotta be still for you juice!

I'm glad to hear Blue is doing better. Sounds like he's feeling his oats!

Go Blue so glad he's got his legs back. Doing my very very happy dance because I really wasn't sure that he would.

Pharmacology question for you - Vyktor's dental is coming up next Friday nailbite_smile The issue is which antibiotic to give (he has at least one FORL so there will be extraction/s). Vyktor cannot be pilled at the best of times let alone with a sore mouth. Vet is keen on giving a shot of Convenia but I understand this is not the best dental antibiotic and he had a shot of that on 12/31/2011 so I believe some will still be floating around in his system (not sure if this matters) and also I have noted some beans' comments that Convenia has worked for them a couple of times but then stopped having effect so if this may happen with Vyktor I would rather save the Convenia for potential later use.

Vet, nor I, think I'll be able to give Clavulox liquid (which he says is the best dental antibiotic) due to Vyktor's aversion to having things 'shoved down his throat' so we are considering Doxycycline which apparently comes in a caramel flavoured paste. I may be able to give Vyktor this in a pill pocket if he doesn't hate the taste. I asked the vet about sugar in it but he said it was the type of sugar (he couldn't remember which type) that didn't affect BG in diabetics. I haven't been able to find anything about types of sugars that are ok for diabetics by googling so I'm not sure what he meant or if he know's what he's talking about.

What do you think :?: do you know anything about this Doxycycline paste :?:

Great news about Blue! And way to work that juice, Bailey. Nice recovery but you have to sit still for your shot. Have a great weekend, Melissa. I agree with Rosalie and Serryn. We sure appreciate your expertise on these drugs.
