Simon is having a good morning, so far. Simon was mostly in the blues yesterday so I'm glad to see that green this morning. I gave him a little more food yesterday because I don't want him losing weight too fast. My old vet said his ideal weight is 12 pounds, but I think that would be too little for him. At his heaviest, he weighed 19 pounds and he is a big cat. In fact, one of the vet techs thought his paws were swollen because they are so big! He now is at 14 pounds and I think I will try to hold him at that weight.

There is snow on the ground today and it is so pretty. Thankfully, the roads are not bad so it is business as usual. Unfortunately, my computer at home is acting crazy and is not working. I hope I don't have to break down and buy a new one.

Sounds like you have a nice handle on his weight.. down from 19lbs.. you are doing awesome! Good luck with the computer, I know unexpected expenses are challening. Have a great day!

What a great pre-shot for Simon! I had the hardest time getting our previous vet to give me a target weight for Willie. She kept going on and on about "welll, if he were a feral cat in the wild, I'd expect his weight to be..." Um, lady. He isn't feral. He doesn't live in the wild. He lives in an apartment. It sounds like you have a good plan for keeping him healthy! We have to look out for our big boned boys!!! LOL

Nice :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: I think you are smart to keep him at 14. You can always initiate more weight loss if you feel its necessary. Simons joints will thank you later too for getting him down to a healthy weight.
