Good Morning, LL and Happy Fursday,
I have been on the appetite rollercoaster with Blackie. When he doesn't eat I get depressed and think I'm losing him and when he does eat well I think he's getting better. :YMSIGH: And it doesn't help that I'm tired. Last night I realized why I was so tired - I've been getting up every 2 hours every night to make sure that Blackie has an opportunity to eat and then I get up at 4am to give him the Denamarin which has to be given away from meals. So last night I skipped the 2am wake up and got a little more sleep. And this morning Blackie's weight was up a little. So I guess a little more sleep didn't hurt either of us.

We switched from prednisone to prednisolone last night and I hope this will help Blackie. He ate super-well last night at +2, but he would not eat at all at shot time. Thus the rollercoaster. He did eat okay this morning and he hung out with me in the bathroom while I got ready for work. I'll report more later when I hear from MIL and DH.

Blackie ate most of his +4 food and and most of his +6.5 food. Now if he would just come back down from that pink floor.

Hi, Ele & Blackie.. CrAzY kitties can sure be wishy washy about their food.. :YMSIGH: Sadi is that way for me.. likes one thing one minute & not the next.. neither Sadi or Baby are ravenous eaters.. I have to chicken dust, prompt & hold the food plate up to them.. it does get tiring.. I am also on the 2 hour interval wake up every night.. I relate it to having a newborn Baby.. but with my little one on inuslin.. I cannot leave anything to chance. Hang in there.. Blackie ate today & now on to the next worry... moving on down in healthy, healing #s cat_pet_icon

Are you noticing a trend when he is inappetant and when he has an appetite? Could the denosyl be causing him to have a yucky tummy?

Be patient, the assist feeding (active feeding) is to get them through periods of inappetance. I posted yesterday about making sure you are trying to feed a food that you know he hasn't associated with possibly feeling yucky eating. Possibly a new brand may help.
