I'll just give him his shot same time as AM -- 9:00 OR in light of the fact that he ate at +11 (8:00), would 9:30 maybe be better (which would be 1.5 hours after eating)?Libby and Lucy said:he's not dropping, he has probably been surfing at around the same number for 4 hours. That's good, it's the way Lantus is supposed to work!
Usually shooting 1/2 hour early isn't a problem. Do get a test, though, to be sure he is surfing or rising. Next time, don't feed just half an hour before you plan to shoot. Now your +11.5 number may reflect a food spike, making it harder to tell whether any rise is due to food or due to the last shot wearing off.
Ok, I did  Yes, +2 or +3???Carl & Bob said:Not a big deal Kat. As long as there's a logical reason for a number, it's just a number. Just note in your SS comments that "PMPS 1 hour after eating".
You up for a +2 or +3?
Carl
yikes...ok...if he's about what # should I turn the Keurig on?Carl & Bob said:I was looking for an example on his SS...
You see what he did on the AM cycle on the 17th of January? That's what I'm trying to avoid. That +4 was an eye-opener
I'd go with the +3
k....until then, friend....Carl & Bob said:Good question. Luckily if it's a k-cup, it only takes a minute.
In a "typical curve", the +3 should be just starting to drop from the PMPS number. But the food timing thing has me perplexed. If onset is usually at +3 when you shoot right after feeding..... I'm thinking the +3 with food an hour early might be lower than typical.....this is just me thinking out loud through my fingers...
150? I'll let you know at +3, lol.
Carl
well, almost midnight! +2.75~317 keep in mind that he ate 3.75 hours ago...Carl & Bob said:okay, see you at midnight!
Carl
thanks Carl--do u ever sleep? back to bed here....test again +9 or +10Carl & Bob said:OK, well that actually looks good. Not "good" in that it's still up there, but good in that it isn't way down there.
My crystal ball is fuzzy, but it doesn't look like he's diving early at least.
Carl
OK, thanks Dyana. I'm going to prepare his shot and test him at +11.5. He ate right after +9.5; therefore when I test him at +11.5 it will be 2 hours since he ate. So at 2 hours after eating, will +11.5 test reflect on his meal? I hope I'm making sense...Dyana said:He's rising fairly fast now.
I read in your Remarks in your ss from yesterday that you shot at 9:00am and 9:00pm. If you want to adjust your shot schedule a little bit today, you can shoot this morning at +11.75, or even +11.5. Just test first and make sure the BGs are still rising.
