2/1 Chnoudi - BLUE AMBGs after OTJ

I don't have any insight other than to say with the +3 (great job getting btw!) shows her pancreas is working so hurray for that :cat: I'm sure someone will be by to give guidance on the AMPS :bighug:

I agree with Susanne! Chnoudi’s pancreas is definitely doing its job. I’ve read on some other condos that giving a snack 3-4 hours before AMBG would help with this? o_O Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Hello everyone!!!! :bighug:

I don't know what's happening with Chnoudi and there are always blue ambgs after her OTJ...
It's the 3rd day in a row today and this really worries me. She eats her +6 snack at night and she is green after 3-4 hours, but....why blue ambgs??

Thank you!!!
She's out partying perhaps?

Is she getting a +9 snack?
It's not unusual for the ambg to be higher than the rest of the cycle, this can often be attributed to dawn phenomenon.

Is she using the autofeeder? I would get one for her. Though you may need to septate her from other kitty so they don't steal it. It's what I do with George

She is coming down nicely after her breakfast and that is a good sign. Try not to worry too much. It's only low blues and she is not trending up at this point.

have you tried new food?
You also mention she had another furball. Have you given the eggyolk a go to try and help with that? I would give it a go, and some general probiotic wouldn't hurt, if she has upset gut flora you might find it helps, I use this with George, he started it after a course of AB and meloxicam gave him really bad diaraeh and I have kept him on a maintenance dose, ever since, he used to get really stinky poops quite frequently, and I've noticed that since being on SBoullardi this happens very infrequently.
this is the brand I use
and interestingly, though I haven't given it too much thought just thinking about it now, since being on the boulardii he rarely gets a blue ambg, they were more frequent in the begining, I guess if he had an upset tummy and he didn't feel well that may have contributed to elevating his BG.....

I think she is getting too many furballs, and this is not normal, as the info on Food Fur Life, this may well suggest some GI issues, possibly slow gut motility. The egg yolk should help with that and if she happens to have inflammation the Sboullardi will help on that front as well as encouraging a healthy gut flora, with the AB's she was on, her reaction to the vaccine and as she got so sick with it all it would not be surprising if that was causing her issues.

Yes, maybe you are right and the hairballs cause her problem... I mistakenly wrote she eats her +6 snack, I meant her +9 snack. Yes, she eats it every night. I have ordered an autofeeder so that we don't have to set an alarm clock at night, but I'm not sure if it will work for Chnoudi because she will wake up for no reason to eat! We put her bowl close to her head ON HER BED and sometimes we have to make her smell it (!) to begin eating.... o_O But, we will try the autofeeder to see!!!
No, I haven't tried the egg yolk... Omg I'm so dilatory..... I have to do it today!!!

have you tried new food?
No, I'm stuck to Bozita, I'm afraid to change again.
since being on the boulardii he rarely gets a blue ambg,
Amazing..... I should order some probiotics. I' ll try to find this brand!
Try not to worry too much
Hahaha I am worried if the sun will rise in the morning...Boulardii for Chnoudi, xanax for mummy. :p

you mentioned her appetite wasn’t as good as well
Yes, yesterday she ate every 2-3 hours, but only a small quantity of food. She was not very hungry. Today, she is better.

Thank you all!!!!! :bighug::bighug:

Hi:)

Hairballs can definitely spike the BG! Even OTJ, Tina had a reading of 160 approx, before losing that hairball. It happened once before OTJ too, where I saw an obvious spike..

I hope that's what it is so you can fix the problem!!
