Previous condo

DH was in charge today. Said both Bailey and Tiggy ate a lot. Which made me really sit down and think. Bailey is 7lbs and since we got him has eaten like crazy. I got so used to it that I have seen it drop a bit but he is still literally eating 4 cans of FF a day and not gaining any weight. he isnt overly active either. I am guessing this means he isnt controlled but his BG generally isnt that bad and when I raise the insulin I get him too low. Thoughts?

have you tried testing with glucose test strips? By doing that, you might be able to determine whether he is running above or below his renal threshhold. Even though the general thought is that a cat's renal threshhold is about 230, with Jazzy, there was a noticeable decrease in appetite and in urine output (and attitude) when she was under about 180. If she hit 200 she started acting/eating/peeing like a diabetic again. Maybe Bailey's threshhold is lower than 230. Just a thought. He might do better if you pulled him down into more blue than yellow.

Yeah we just got a failed dose decrease. Back to 0.1iu again soon..

However he still eats a lot even when mostly blue green...
