Good morning All, Stu's BG is a bit lower at AMPS. We are beginning the 4th cycle of 2 units Lantus bid. He's acting fine: all is normal. Ketones negative. I'll be interested to see what today's numbers will be. Last night the PMPS +4 was higher than PMPS. Please have a look at Stu's spreadsheet and comment on yesterday's (31 January) progressively lower numbers up to PMPS.
Thank you so much for helping Stu get on the road to regulation.

Ella

Re: 2/01 Stu AMPS 389, +3 299

Hi Ella

yesterdays +9 is nice to show up later in the day cycle...you're doing a good job getting those checks in, I don't have anything to offer on the dose, other than see how today goes, a little patience and chill-axin' - Stu will find his way!
Good news on no ketones!!! :-D

Nice progress I would say!
You're already getting some yellow. Woohoo.
Keep on the dose.

Hi again and thanks! +6 looks like a setback! I finally received my Relion Ultima BG meter and will begin using it at PMPS this evening. I tested it twice in succession on myself and compared it with two tests taken on the True Track at the same time. The two tests on the Relion were 3 points apart. The two tests on the True Track were 8 points apart. Here are the results (MY readings, NOT Stu's!!!): Test no. 1: Relion Ultima, 89; True Track, 101.
Test no. 2: Relion Ultima, 92; True Track, 93
All 4 tests took place within 5 minutes. For the sake of Stu's ears, I decided not to use his blood to compare the meters.
The Relion Ultima seems to be more consistent than the True Track. I think I can use the Relion's readings in Stu's spreadsheet without messing up his trends too much. Yes??
I hope to get a reading at +9 (it will be with the True Track, since I want to start the Relion with a new cycle).
Thanks for helping,
Ella

Sounds like a good plan to start using the new meter when you start the evening cycle.

And try not to focus too much on one number it will drive you crazy. These kitties will have fluctuations that we don't always expect. It is the big picture that is more important. Our sweet cats are living beings and not machines so there are many things that influence the BG numbers. And sometimes... we just don't know why they do what they do!

:-D
