Morning and thanks to Christie, Karrie, Michelle, Nicole, Celia, and Ella for responding last night when I posted with my surprise of a 171 PMPS. I think I've discovered something that may be raising her bg. Magggie is extremely carb sensitive, and I notice when I feed her Cowboy Cookout by Merrick, her levels go up. It's a great quality and low enough carb, but have you noticed the ingredients - there are sweet potatoes, carrots, snow peas, and Granny Smith Apples. She was resisting the Merrick chicken before grain food, so I thought others had used this one. Today no Cowboy Cookout and see what happens. Otherwise all P's in place, and right now she's sitting on the very top head part of the Lazy boy in her guard position waiting for any visits or walk thrus of Mr. Raccoon or gray tabby. Still asking around about this kitty.

You are probably on to something! I will be following along to see how she does. I have to add chicken dust to Maverick's food to tempt him many days. Doesn't add carbs thankfully.

Good luck today! Hope Maggie gets visitors

Morning Ann!

I think you are right about the Cowboy Cookout - I do feed this to Mannie, and I too think it will raise him some, number wise. I now feed it only when we are in the greens or low blues at ps. Mannie is not that carb sensitive, so I can imagine that if it keeps his numbers up what it would do to a carb sensitive kitty. Btw - I did finally find some BG Merrick - he loves that one too. I often wonder if there is anything that he doesn't like.

Have a great day guys. Keep the watchful vigil Maggie!

Good start to Maggie's day. It is strange how some foods really make a difference on bg numbers than others, even if they are lc. Keeps us guessing and on our toes.

Stu loved Cowboy Cookout and it didn't seem to raise his bgs, but Rusty got sick both times I gave it to him. (he might be allergic to beef). I read somewhere, I think it might have been in Dr. Lisa's discussion of foods, that Cowboy Cookout was the ideal food for feline diabetics. All of this shows that you simply have to experiment and find out what works for your cat, because ECID!!!
Really nice, level blue surf for Maggie today.
Have a good evening, guys.

Hey Maggie, I'm having a blizzard bash. Can you come? We might get snowed in, but we've got lots of good food. Mannie will pick you up, OK?
