19/02/2022 - Whiskey - so frustrating today, can't get a BG test

Tried twice, AMPS and +4 (4 x each), wasted 4 strips and 4+ attempts each. Used every trick I know, vaseline, cleaning ears first, everything. EVERY TIME the blood comes out and just smears and I can't pick it up on the strip. Had to give up in the end. :arghh:

Will try again later.
 
There are times I have trouble getting enough blood from Furball's ear. I've learned to get the blood on my fingernail and then I can tell if I have enough blood so I don't keep wasting strips. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes. I think sometimes the meds I'm applying to the ear create a thick coating which interferes with the blood drop forming. I tried 4x both times and just smeared it every time.

Gave up in the end, Whisk and I were both getting very frustrated.

Thanks, just so annoying for her and me!

Problem is the antifungal meds sometimes coat the ear, and then I just can't get enough to even try that. Just a smeared sample of blood all over her ear.

Don't want try too many times as it can hurt and make her scratch her ear again.

Yes, unfortunately blood just wouldn't form a drop, just a smear on the ear.

Roll on not having to treat her ears anymore!!!
