13yo FDSH on Vetsulin for 3 weeks, now her numbers are suddenly low(er) without insulin

Can you guys take a look at the last few days of my spreadsheet? Our girl got diagnosed at the end of February (untreated levels around 400 or so), and we've been giving somewhere between 1 and 2 units of Vetsulin BID.

The last few days, her levels were *way* down, so much so that she didn't get any insulin for 48 hours. She's been in the 100 to 200 range for a few days now, and got down to 81 last night (retested 10 minutes later and got 114, so the reading was pretty close). She was 197 this morning so I gave her 0.4 units.

Is it possible that her pancreas/beta cells are coming back so quickly after beginning treatment? Maybe we caught it early?

EDIT: She's eating and drinking normal amounts. She's on a zero card dry food.
 
That would be great! Here's hoping. I'm going to be extra-diligent witbh AMPS and PMPS testing every time now; can never assume that she'll be at her typical 300+ when she's due for the next injection.

I'm just surprised remission could happen so quickly (3 or 4 weeks) especially when using Vetsulin (as opposed to Lantus). I wonder if the no-carb food is making a big difference.

FYI, I tested my non-diabetic cat just out of curiosity the other night. She read 48 on my ReliOn Micro.
 
Food can definitely make a huge difference! I agree that Molly is looking like she is one of those cats who might be able to go very quickly to remission now that she's on the right food.

You do definitely need to be testing very consistently at this stage-- always get those pre-shots, and do your best to get at least one spot-check in sometime around peak Vetsulin activity to make sure she's not going too low. I don't see a lot of night-time tests-- you definitely want to do some of those, too (when you shoot at night; I see you haven't been recently), because many cats seem to go lower at night.

Keep in mind that on a human meter non insulin dependant cats are about 50-120, so above 130 or so I would give a tiny (.25 -.5) dose. So glad she's doing well! My cat went into remission on vetsulin.
