Georgia and Simon (GA)

I think Simon cleared his bounce yesterday. This is his lowest AMPS in a number of days. I'm a little nervous because I have to go to tbp and I don't want him dropping too much like the other day. I will get a +2 test before I leave, and if he is dropping, will feed a little mc food to keep him up until I come home at lunch (hopefully, I will be able to run out for a minute to do this). He seems a a little sleepy and is lying on the floor in his "testing room". Instead of lying on my yoga mat like usual, he is sitting on a pair of my socks, protecting them from intruders.

Cleo has had another upset tummy this morning. I gave her pepcid last night and this morning and have also been giving her slippery elm bark. She seems fine otherwise. I know with CRF, kitties can have alot of stomach acid. If she does it again tomorrow morning, I'm going to call the vet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks and thank goodness it is Friday!!

No suggestions. Poor Cleo. I hope she feels better soon.

Very nice start for Simon. Surf safely boy. Don't let anyone make off with those socks!

Re: 12/9 Simon AMPS 143

no suggestions but I hope Cleo's tummy settles down and Simon surfs some nice safe numbers so you can go out and do what you need to.

Have a fantastic Friday

Re: 12/9 Simon AMPS 143

Hi Georgia, I hope Simon surfs safely, but if he drops, you will get it under control. Sorry about Cleo's tummy. Pepcid is what I give Maggie. I haven't tried the slippery elm bark. Is it a capsule or powder you mix in with food? Cute with Simon guarding the socks. Maggie sits on my newspaper. Have a nice day.

Re: 12/9 Simon AMPS 143

I'm sorry Cleo isn't feeling well...unfortunately, I don't know any other ideas, but I hope she's feeling better for you ASAP.

Good boy, Simon, with that lovely AMPS and keeping MamaBean's socks safe! Keep up the good work with a nice, safe surf today!

Have a great Friday!

Amy

Shoot, I was thinking that this was going to be a better cycle today. I guess Simon just doesn't want me to worry while I am at work so he is giving me some higher numbers.

Ann, I got the information about the slippery elm bark from Marje. It comes in either a capsule or powder that you mix in her food. I have to put the powder in an empty gel cap because Cleo refuses to eat anything that has something different on her food. It has been helping but not sure what is different right now that is causing her to feel more sick to her stomach.

Re: 12/9 Simon PMPS 384 dose advice?

I am very depressed and confused over what is going on with Simon's numbers. He has a couple of good numbers and then he skyrockets like tonight. He did throw up and poop on my rug before I got home. We have a cat that has been hanging around our patio door trying to steal the food I put out for our neighbor's cat. Could that be stressing Simon out so much that he is throwing up and pooping and then has high bg because of the stress?

Should I wait a couple of more cycles on the skinny 2.00 or just go on back up to 2.00? He had that 44 the other day and I am worried that it might happen again when I am not around.

I won't be around that much tomorrow because I have to run around all day doing errands so won't be able to test alot.

Re: 12/9 Simon PMPS 384

Good evening Georgia! So sorry about Simon"s numbers. Could he be going low when you are gone and bouncing? I would be hesitant to raise him with that 44. Tarragon is doing the same thing. I am interested to see what others say.

Hope Cleo is feeling better! Healing vines to the sweet girl! Have a good night Georgia!

Re: 12/9 Simon PMPS 384

Wish I could help, but I'm still a newbie when it comes to dosing advice. Zener is a real bouncy boy, and every time he gets in low numbers he bounces and it lasts for a full six cycles. We have to wait the full time out to see if he gets flat enough to know where to go with his dose. Hope more experienced eyes come along soon.

Re: 12/9 Simon PMPS 384

sorry for the numbers today... I know how you feel... am going through the same thing with Mannie - wish I could offer some help. perhaps the other kitty is stressing him out? maybe it's the full moon? I hope Simon levels out some... Come on down Simon - it will make your bean happy.

Re: 12/9 Simon PMPS 384

Aw, Simon....

sending better number thoughts for Simon and feel better thoughts for Cleo.

you might want to pm Marjorie & Mike...
i seem to remember her mentioning slippery elm bark...

Wow! Simon sure has dropped from the PMPS. Melissa, you are probably right. Simon may be going lower at times that I can't test. And Ann and Michelle and Melissa, it helps to know that other kitties are doing something similar to what Simon is doing with the bouncy thing. It is just so unusual for him since he always was a "steady as he goes" kitty.

That is quite a drop...he cleared that bounce quickly!

Until the past couple days, Trix has been in the same bouncy boat, too. It's a weird LL trend lately...at least we're all bouncing together!

Have a great evening!

Amy
