What did your vet say about that sore. It looks really red to me. Is it getting better?

Does she seem skinny to you? What did the vet say about the weight loss?

My cat J.D. is 12.5lbs or 5.7kg and he eats about 2 and sometimes 3 cans a day, but he's a male, older, and rather quiet and sleeps a lot. My girl cat Ginger weighs 11lbs or 5kg and she eats the same and is more active. I think ECID, but let us know if you want help and advice on getting her to eat more.

I hope you have a good day and she gets her appetite back today, and comes down in BGs this cycle.

Hi Aseel. Noni sure dropped into the green zone fast. I hope she surfs there for you today. I opened the photo you posted and Noni looks tiny. Has the vet changed his dx about the red spot? Noni is very lucky to have a bean that takes such good care of her.

Hi Dyana,


the vet said not to panic when it becomes brown, it will get darker and fall .. and as he applied the sudocream it started to get darker same day. so I think this is how it should heal ..now it is shrinking I guess !

I really want her to eat more.. shes not eating much today too .. she used to be 5 - 4.7 before the operation, the vet said it is due to the operation + flu she got and the sore through, and she will recover and gain weight in time .

she eats little ,, she likes eating so many times during the day , like every 3 -4 hours or so ! should I make her go hungry ! she would only eat HC 3 cans maybe ! or dry food .. ! but when it come to LC she just eats little !!

I'm lucky to have her too . shes not eating much today ... I notice her doing this whenever her BG is high !

Vet said It will be getting brown and fall .. its shrinking and getting darker now..It was white at first ..

but I really have to get her to eat more ! I don't know If I should use HC food or something.. cuz she only eat like 2 tsb since morning .. now its 8 PM, I really need something to to poster her appetite, she seems to hate every brand too, FF is her fav !

J.D. likes steak, so I can buy it when it goes on sale, and I broil it with no seasonings. I cut it into thin slices and then put the slices into baggies and freeze them. I use them for treats by taking a few slices out of the freezer and breaking the slice up into cat size pieces. I also put them on top of his food sometimes. I don't know if beef has sodium in it though. I know ham does. Have you tried turkey? Maybe she would like that?

sprinkle food with :
- forta flora -- a probiotic you can get at vets or online. is very smelly and cats love the taste of it.
- parm. cheese
- smashed crumbles of dry food
- bonito tuna flakes
- halo chicken treats -- crumble into dust over food -- my Wolfie loves this stuff.
- poor a little water from tuna in water over food ( I use low sodium/no sodium added as other kinds in water has veg. broth in it and I assume that means onions, which are toxic to cats-- check labels)
- I do not have a trader joes -- but others swear by trader joe tuna for cats
- powdered oregano. yep sounds weird . but some cats like it and it will entice them to eat.

have you talked to your vet about appetite stimulents ?
mirtazapine has become a favorite b/c you dose only 1x every 3 days.

I had a hard time getting J.D. to eat this morning, and finally got him to eat by giving him some EVO Dry cat food smooshed into his regular LC wet FF.
Is your brother still coming to visit you for Christmas? I wonder if he could bring some EVO dry with him too?
It's not ideal as it is about 8% carbs and because it's dry it acts different than feeding a wet 8% carb food,
but a bag lasts me a long time as I only use a few kibbles usually as a rare treat, or to encourage him to eat.
EVO also makes several canned foods that are good too, but I don't know if it is available to you in Kuwait.

When I have to go to work and feel desparate to get J.D. to eat something because I have to leave, I'll give him some cyproheptadine once in a while. It works pretty good. The mirtazapine is a little harsher and sometimes makes J.D. feel agitated so I tend to choose the cypro instead.

I now have a diabetic feline diet dry food from Royal canin, recommended by her vet, but I don't really use much .. even when i add few kibbles to her food, she search for those, eat them , and run away ! maybe I can smash and use as powder or something ?

but are you saying the Evo is better choice ? or it's okay to use the Royal canin ?!! I have a full bag !

I will also try getting her some steak .. but really odd that they like oregano ~~ Italian kittens xD

after +2 PM test I decided to give some medium carb Tuna just to make her eat ! I don't use tuna more often because her sodium issue tho !
she ate well, only concern as she was dropping so quick .

Hey Noni - That is a really big drop so early in the cycle. Praying you will eat good this cycle and surf and not get out of control. We wants your little body to be healed!

That's weird as it worked earlier. I think you should definitely check with your vet first about any of the appetite stimulants though as they can cause rapid heart rate and breathing and you don't want that with Noni's history.
I'm glad she ate the medium carb tuna. I'm dealing with the same eating issues with J.D. right now.

J.D is not eating too ;( what a non-eating day !


She finally decided to eat .. I'm begging her to since morning ! Sometimes she only eat when I'm not watching I don't know why she likes to play that game !

Now after a 1/2 can of Tuna she's having a good sleep. So I can go to bed too
